Remember, according to @Basebal21 "Strength of Schedule" is really important.
All that and the 3 o'clock games have just started!! I see another shake-up in the Top 25.
SOS is very important which is why Bama winning against 3 ranked teams in a row two of which were road games is more important than a first game of the season loss. Bama still has at least 3 ranked teams left on their schedule. Thats brutal

You never seem to be able to grasp concepts and you never seem to know when I'm yanking your chain.
Go back 3-4-5 pages to where I say something about looking at SOS at the end of the season and try to figure out what it means. Consider Texas. When Ohio State beat them they were what, 1 or 2, I can't remember. It seemed like a big deal. Today they are unranked and they beat 6 Oklahoma. That is huge, but the fact that they have slipped really lessens the fact that they lost to Ohio State. But according to your logic it shouldn't because they were ranked so high.
You want to say that Alabama is really good because they beat ranked teams, what about their loss to a team(Florida State) that will shortly be out of the Top 25 because they lost to an un-ranked Pitt?? Your BS Strength of Schedule argument only sounds good in the moment when the victory takes place, but it looks a little different at the end of the season when the dust settles and we see that many of the previously ranked teams SUCK.
That's what going on in the SEC to a great extent and in the BIG 10 to a lesser extent, everybody sucks and beats everybody else who sucks.. There are very few good teams in NCAA football right now, teams who beat who they should beat very easily and also handle the true competition with relative ease. I need less than the fingers of one hand to count the really good teams.
"Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety," --- Benjamin Franklin
Let the Top 10 shake-up begin. I swear, if the voters swap Ohio State and Miami(Fla) you'll hear me screaming. But I almost expect it.
Ohio State --- offense struggled a bit but the defense took care of business.
Miami (FL) --- bye week.
Oregon --- they might not be as good as we thought.
Ole Miss --- one of large number of SEC pretenders, barely won against an un-ranked team.
Texas A&M --- if the Gators win it will wreck the Poll!!
Oklahoma --- as predicted, the upset of the week and another SEC pretender.
Indiana ---man, I misread the Hoosiers, they should be 3rd tomorrow.
Alabama --- barely one but probably the best SEC team. Quite a change from opening day but still fortunate today.
Texas Tech --- a battle for the Big 12 lead.
Georgia --- never underestimate the power of Georgia to shoot themselves in the foot.
It is really getting hard in the SEC to keep track of who has lost to who, when they lost and where were the teams ranked when it happened. Same thing in the Big 10. If you compare the teams, their records in the conference and overall it can be hard to know who sucks the most. I can't wait to post who I think the Top 10 teams are. It seems every week that 2-3 leave, 2-3 enter and there are 5-6 that shift around between 2-7.
Ya gotta love it!!

Miami only has one good win on their resume. A 3 point win over the Irish.
Another interesting weekend in college football. One thing, well, actually two things are clear to me now. First, there are only two conferences which seem to have the best teams right now, the SEC and the BIG 10. Second, in the SEC there seems to be no team incapable of losing to any other conference foe, a fact which makes it difficult to determine what team(s) might challenge for the National Championship in January. It changes from week to week as the shuffling at the top of the AP Poll continues.
I think this week the biggest thing to watch is how the first place votes are allocated(currently 40/21/5). I don't seriously expect Ohio State to fall from the top spot as I facetiously posted yesterday, but my hunch is that they lose votes. That's what I'll be looking at. Below is how I see the Top 10 after a Saturday where some of the "best" teams struggled and a few even lost. Right now the best place to be would seem to be around 10-15, almost like that's a waiting room for entry to the Top 10. I figure the carnage at the top will continue next week.
AP poll. Indiana their highest ranking ever. Im surprised Nebraska got ranked and not Washington. In the coaches poll Ohio State got almost all the first place votes.
I was wrong about those votes as the Buckeyes' share actually increased. Past that the voters seemed to read things the way I do with another shake-up. Next week it looks like the big games will be Ole Miss vs. Georgia and Tennessee vs. Alabama.
Might be a week to bet on the visitors.

I know that if an SEC team were to go to Southern Cal and let a walk on freshman playing his first game run the ball down their throats for 160 yards the other SEC fan bases and teams would be laughing at them non stop/celebrating not defending them, especially if its their biggest rival
I know that if an SEC team were to go to Southern Cal that Maywood might suffer a stoke!!!
Yeah, when was the last time something like that happened?? SEC teams are loathe to travel out of their conference backyard and don't do so during the regular season with any kind of regularity. As @coolstanley said, road games are hard and when you have to travel 1,500-2,000 miles or more to play it really does affect the outcome. I see that the SEC has re-structured their scheduling but from 1st glance it doesn't seem like it will change much. On the other side of things, with the dissolution of the PAC 12 and teams joining the BIG 10 the latter conference, which already traveled out west, has insured that they will continue to do so.
I'm a proponent of inter-conference play but also understand that teams want to honor their conference rivalries and play those games. We are in the age of computers, certainly there can be a way to figure both things out. We are also in an age where some sort of "revenue sharing" can be accomplished without having to play the games. Does Ohio State really have to play Grambling?? Does Alabama really have to play LA-Monroe?? I could go on but the point is clear.
What we have is a Playoff between 4-Conference Champions(ACC, Big Ten, Big 12, and SEC) and one other Conference Champion from 5 other conferences. The so-called Big 4 should be restricted to playing each other and the remaining 5 conferences should be restricted to playing each other(American, Conference USA, MAC, Mountain West, and Sun Belt). The rest of the NCAA member schools can then play each other.
It's time to quit playing around and talking about who is best, decide it on the field and not just in January.
"Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety," --- Benjamin Franklin
Bama went to Wisconsin, Oklahoma will go to Michigan next year. They will travel for out of conference games if its worth doing so which takes two schools to agree to a home and home.
The SEC isnt interested in conference teams unless they are in a state that touches a state a team is already in. The SEC has nothing do with the fact that Michigan let a freshman walk on who had 11 total carries on the season come in and run for 158 on them. He had 0 carries against Illinois.
As far as revenue sharing it will never happen. Its more likely that the SEC and the B!G will make their own league for football than they just share their revenue with others. The built in tune up games give them a chance to see some of the backups and the schools basically get paid a bunch to lose and fund their program.
Ive have mentioned before I do like the idea of a power 4 playoff, and a G5 playoff separated creating a 2nd level of the FBS like the FCS which is technically D1. Its going to take years to get it done but the SEC and the B!G have been in talks about having them play each other for all the out of conference games doing a rivalry type thing. One of the big hangups is that as long as the other G5 conferences can out vote them and the voters for the polls theyd just be hurting each other for the playoffs unless SOS is weighed a lot more heavily over record which they are trying to change

I doubt any SEC teams would've done much better. USC was 2-0 against the SEC last year.

Thanks for the laugh man, OSU super fan defending Michigan always cracks me up
Michigan already got handled by Oklahoma this year and the words last year in college football mean nothing with the roster changes

I'm not defending Michigan. I just know how hard it is to win on the road in college football. But I'm sure you think the SEC teams would just destroy USC at the L.A. coliseum.

I know that if an SEC team were to go to Southern Cal and let a walk on freshman playing his first game run the ball down their throats for 160 yards the other SEC fan bases and teams would be laughing at them non stop/celebrating not defending them, especially if its their biggest rival

Huh.
