Georgia, Bama, Indiana, OSU OU, TT, Oregon, A&M are all in

The committee would have to have a big change in voting for an SEC or B!G team to be penalized for a conference championship loss leaving them out.

Ole Miss is a wild with whats happening there but should be in

Either North Texas or Tulane will get the 12th spot as the G5 team.

    UVA Duke winner is in

The last spot is a mess. Its either ND (which it probably will be) or Vandy Texas Miami.

Theres real chaos if BYU happens to beat TT in the Big 12 championship

If Bama loses I doubt they get in with 3 losses. Not to mention the FSU loss dont look too good.

How does the Head Coach of a team with a chance to play for the National Championship do that to his team??

If Bama loses I doubt they get in with 3 losses.
I think they'll lose but still get in.

I dont see how. Right now all 3 polls have them at 10. The ACC winner and group of five team are both ranked below them. So that really puts Bama at the #12 spot. So another loss is sure not going to help their cause.

    Breaking down the 12 spots

Ohio State, Indiana, Oregon all in.
    ACC champ in
    SEC champ in
    Big 12 champ in
Highest ranked group of 5 team in
Notre Dame in(The voters love ND)
    11-1 Ole Miss in
    11-1 Texas A@M in

So that leaves only 2 spots left. Teams like Vanderbilt, Miami, Utah, and Oklahoma will be fighting for the last 2 spots.

After watching Vandy's QB and Mateer for Oklahoma, I'm all about Vandy getting in, and Oklahoma getting pushed out.

I like Utah so my hopes are Vandy and the Utes.

    I hate Miami

I would pick Oklahoma over Vandy because they have a good defense, and have wins over Alabama and Michigan.

Cant argue that, I think Vandy's win over Tennessee is the only win barely worth talking about

They lost a close one to Texas but got smashed by Alabama

How can any reasonable CFP voter pick a different SEC team over Alabama?? Should playing in your Conference Championship count for nothing?

That’s the reason why it makes no sense to have had these SEC teams hanging around in the Poll, it only creates confusion, but I think it is the intended result. Texas and Vanderbilt have been up/down more times than a yo-yo. They’re good, they suck, they’re good, they suck and on and on. Right now nobody is sure what SEC team is good and what team sucks, so there are 4-5 of them hanging around.

The argument is equal parts who should get in and who should be out. In the end it’s a silly debate because they each will almost certainly lose in the first round. I know that stings if you’re an SEC loyalist but it’s the truth of the matter. The CFP Committee will cram so many SEC teams in the bracket that we’ll have a Conference Consolation game in the first round between 2 SEC teams that didn’t play in their championship.

So, I was just reading an article about the Lane Kiffin debacle and was surprised that there is no policy in place which is actively enforced with the NCAA about tampering with with another teams Coach. That sort of hard to understand, but after this there might be some changes.

i don't follow college football as closely as you guys do, so perhaps one of you can come along and explain to me why that was allowed to happen. the timing obliterates every ounce of common sense. Ole Miss just had one of their best seasons in school history, and prior to the very important next step another team within their conference was given the green light to wreck it by way of poaching the hc and other members of the coaching staff. which could potentially alter their seed.........which could potentially strip them of a home playoff game..........and which could potentially have an adverse effect on their overall run

    completely and unequivocally effed up

I'm glad that Ole Miss told Kiffen to beat it, you want to go to LSU then there is the door, I wouldn't have let him coach through the playoffs in any way shape or form

idk if you kept up with it, but it got very contentious. he's a good coach, but he's also a total dickhead. every exit he has made has been acrimonious, save for maybe Florida Atlantic. he basically threatened Ole Miss -- either let me finish out the season or i'm going to strip the cupboard bare and take coaches & the best players with me. he had everything he could have possibly wanted, including a real shot at winning it all at a school that's never in contention. but instead he gave it all up and went scorched earth like he has done multiple times in the past. dude had the opportunity to be the most popular human being in the history of Mississippi and wanted no part of it.

now he's at a place where he's expected to win natties and quick. i say he flames out, gets fired, and will ultimately be right back where he started -- taking a lesser gig in an attempt to work his way back up the coaching hierarchy.

you should have seen the footage of Ole Miss fans who showed up at the airport when he climbed into a private LSU plane yesterday............they were all flipping him off and launching f bombs

I honestly don't follow it much, I stayed at a buddies house watching the games and we were watching college all day

They had a updated the clock on him making his decision and we heard about all the drama about him wanting to stay and coach even though he was out the door for LSU, the whole thing is crazy and ridiculous.

Personally I think these guys that are getting millions shouldn't be allowed to talk to other teams until their final game is played and their contract is up.

I hope LSU gets their rear ends handed to them while under Kiffen and he gets run out of the Bayou

Honestly it wasnt a a smart move. He took a bunch of the offensive staff with him and now Ole Miss is in a really bad spot. Only question is how much they get punished in the rankings for it tomorrow

Several of their elite players are very likely going to be leaving to follow him as well. Theyre in full panic mode icoaching wise mmediately naming the DC the full time head coach

As for Bama they will be in unless the committee turns themselves into a joke. They would be 1-1 against the SEC champion if they lose and the committee has said before and the conferences have made it clear (especially the SEC and the B!G) that they dont want teams punished for having to play an extra game.

If Bama gets knocked out of the playoffs for a loss in the conference championship against Georgia things will get really ugly. Theres no playoff deal in place at the moment and the SEC can really start throwing its weight around if such a dumb decision is made

Just two years ago, the CFP committee penalized a one loss Georgia team for losing the sec championship game. They got shut out of the playoffs over a lower ranked Texas team.
