@lkenefic and others - you can remove the tape residue from ANACS slabs using an alcohol swab like you use to sterilize before a shot. As long as you don't leave the alcohol to puddle on the plastic for more than a few seconds, it won't damage the case. Usually, I find a swipe to wet the paper residue and then some serious rub is necessary.

Great old holders, loved the minimalism of them and generally the accuracy of the grading. Were these not considered secure enough? I realize the company changed hands and they could not continue the grade guarantee.
I always liked this holder. My first certified coin was in an ANACS holder: it was an MS64 1913 Prussian 3 Mark coin, the Defeat of Napoleon one. It had some good toning, so it was one of the first coins I spent some time imaging. How I’d like that one back.
This is my only old ANACS coin now.

I also like the old holders. I was lucky that when I started collecting 20 years ago and bought 95% of my collection from EBAY, these old soap bars were readily available and always at a discount vs PCGS & NGC. Have no problem with grades until the slab #'s were higher 7 digits.

However - They are Neat - really liked them in the day. Still like them too. At one of my first shows setup at sold a $10 Gold CC ANACS coin (got all the money too).
This $10 gold piece is a minor gold type coin. Since I had completed the gold type set, this was an interesting addition. This was Gobrect's first take on the resumption of the $10 gold denomination after it was suspended in 1804.
Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

I still have 2 of these.
I have just a few of these left.
This 1930-S is a good candidate for a crossover and upgrade.

The famous "Panama Pill", one of the smallest coins (complete with an old Teletrade sticker).

There are exceptions.
IMO, this former ANACS small slab coin is NOT VF35. It's now properly graded at PCGS VF30.

In the mailbox today. I love the big coins in the small holder.
The "75" is less impressive than it seems, ANACS/Amos switched over from the XX#### certs they inherited from the ANA after several years.

Is this considered old? 🤷♂️

They used to call that Gen. of ANACS slab "quick release" holders. You can crack them out with your bare hands.
Philippians 4:4-7
Back to the soap bar:
Crossed to PCGS & became this:

“The thrill of the hunt never gets old”
PCGS Registry: Screaming Eagles

Retired sets: Soaring Eagles

Nickelodeon
These are my favorite slabs. This coin looks better than a 64.
