Both coins are beautifully toned.
Nice coin. Attractive Barber halves are hard to find.

Don’t own it any more. Wish I did.

One of the absolute best dimes I've ever seen, period.
Thank you Eldorado9. Your coins are always mind boggling gorgeous!
Thank you Buddy....I've been aware of that dime for a few years, and you have great taste.....James Stack was a superb numismatist and had some of the best coins on the planet.
So perfect. In person, it's got to be stupendous.
Now that hits the mark solidly! What a beauty! The toning is a tutorial for originality.
Based on the stunning coins shown so far, I don't know if this one . It's not a particularly high grade (MS64) but I, at least, like the toning.

Latin American Collection
It's insanely nice.
I've always been kind of partial to this coin-
In honor of the memory of Cpl. Michael E. Thompson
@TomB Yeah, I also would be kind of partial to that coin!!
These three fit the description for me.

Maybe this one?

Commems that were undisturbed in their original Dennison mailers and have tab toning are original to my eye

All stunning coins guys....The quality we have here on the Forum is just superb.
Beautiful....Easily fits the bill! Barber proofs like that with outstanding eye appeal , and in moderate grades are gone from the market these days. Great coin. Very deserving of the sticker too.
Great thread! A few from my sold archives:

@Copperindian If had owned those coins, they would not be in my sold archives because I'd hang onto them forever!!
Those are extremely nice, especially (in my opinion) the 20 cent piece.
What an amazing set for coins on display in this thread.
Wish I had a comparable Classic US coin that would be worthy of posting in thread. Alas I do not, so I will just look at this thread and drool.
@Mark: I get it & couldn’t agree more! But sometimes I need to raise $$$$ to buy other coins! I need to get POA over Del Hansen’s bank account LOL…..

Some really nice material guys. Thanks for posting. @Copperindian and @TomB I have to put those two 1892's together here because they are sooooo beautiful. Great pair!

I'll have to throw this one in to the group, because It's just so original. Ex Rev. James McClure

Awesome dollar Eldorado9. There were many beautiful/original coins in that sale.
Another coin from an old time collection, The James Allair Millholland sale by Stacks.
He was born in 1842 and died in 1911 and his collection was kept intact by the family until being sold in 2023.
@Coinbert Fantastic Millholland coin! I remember that sale very well......Incredible group of toned proof material. Gorgeous 1880!
Stunning proof SLD Eldorado. Here's another from the McClure collection/sale. As a lover of highly original toned 18th century proofs, that collection produced some phenomenally preserved examples.

I'm bookmarking this thread because the quality of the coins is just awesome.
@BillJones That gold dollar is just a perfect specimen! Beautiful.
@PocketChange Your .20c from McClure is absolute old-time perfection. I believe a group of his coins sat for many, many years in a vault, and acquired the rich toning....It's the kind of story and provenance I love.

One more, from the recent Paul Gerrie sale of Bust Halves. MS-64+ CAC
Here is a CAC MS65. To be honest I would prefer it not so original. The luster is muted.

I'd be happy to take it off your hands, at a discount, of course!
"Got a flaming heart, can't get my fill"
I struggled a bit to contribute to this wonderful thread since the definition of a gem is 65 or above and I don't generally collect classic coinage at that lofty level! So, the only coin I think could be worthy of the grade and the "look" might be this coin in a 65 w/CAC holder:
"Got a flaming heart, can't get my fill"
My Dad bought this coin in 1980 for $90

Here's a couple in 58+ that I've posted before, but not in this kind of rarified gallery of beauties! I think they meet the criteria though. PS. What a great thread!
