Finally found an Andrew Wyeth 38mm bronze copy of the Congressional Gold Medal in original cellophane. Took only a few years of hunting. Mintage unknown.
There have been a LOT of really nice coins posted recently. Here is one I was pleased to acquire. The grade is VG8 but I'm excited anyway because this thing is rare.

NEVER apologize for a “low” grade on anything that looks that perfect for the grade it is in. Much less to say the extreme rarity of this item!

Only a dozen known, all the same die state (Bowers Die State II). Exceeded only by the Hesselgesser-Cardinal-Matthews-Haugh (PCGS MS61) Specimen and the Sullivan (PCGS AU55) Specimen. Upgrades my previous highest example, the Rose-Kagin-Stark-Coxe (NGC XF Details) Specimen, now the fourth finest.
Got this at the FUN show from @alefzero. At the PCGS lunchin, I sat with @messydesk and later stopped by his table to get a great trueview. Hope to send it to CAC soon. 50/50 on it stickering.

The reverse reminds me of the scene in 'Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory' where they are walking down a hallway inside the factory and it seems to be getting smaller...

Random casual discussion with two separate dealers included how hard it is to find a nice circulated 1903-O. Found this one and brought her home.
The 1903-O is extremely rare circulated. Along with the 1881-CC and 1885-CC, which I have owned circulated (never had a circulated 1903-O), they were major Rarities until the Treasury release. The GSA sold many from those bags, but they were BU. A circulated example would be the major rarity pre-GSA.
Very nice. Wonder which VAM it might be. It is possible that it could be unlisted, with no representation in the Treasury bags.

I picked this one up on a whim.
I wish I knew more about Morgan VAMS.
I failed at finding out what the VAM 10 1921 Morgan entails, outside of what is listed on the reverse decal:
I forgot the auction time and won this while I was napping. I woke up and found out I had just completed my Seated Liberty half dollar set a few minutes earlier. I missed the celebration at the hammer!
