This one is on its way to me. It'll probably be the last coin I purchase in 2024 as other auctions I am watching close at the beginning of 2025.

This is the last one - arriving today:
It will go nicely with my 1854-S $1 (the first year of operation for the SF Mint). If I can find a nice $20 like this, I’ll have the 3 to “complete” the set (the $2 1/2 & $5 are impossible)!

The last purchase was this T$. Not that very many people care about t$ varieties but I bought it because it is a very scarce variety.
Same date but not nearly as cool as the one that @lermish just posted.
This has been on my list for awhile - I was quite pleased to purchase earlier this week. Not a coin though - sorry!
I won’t know for sure until Sunday whether or not I’ll win an auction that may be my final coin purchase this year

Chile copper pattern made by James B Longacre and sold in his estate in 1870.
Latin American Collection
I spent the big money on this, which is on its way now.
and by big i mean really really small
Seemed like a good buy….Only time will tell! POP 3..none higher….
This is a note, not a coin, but its the last of the year for me, adding Delaware as a new state to my OFES collection.
1756 Peru 1 Real
Closing 2024 with a ''ugly coin'' but still a date I needed and at 40$ and non holed the price was right. This coin is a beater but only the 2nd 1756 I have seen in over a year of searching. The last one was much nicer but I only saw it after the auction had closed (it was in a lot with 5 other coins and commanded a price way above what the 1756 was worth anyways). Will upgrade over time. Considered as an uncommon date per Yonaka:
NFL: Buffalo Bills & Green Bay Packers
I am trying to figure out what is so special about this die variety?
Medium S, likely from a half dollar, and no period after fine. Estimated population is 50-60ish.
Sitting in FedEx Customs Clearance in Madrid. It should arrive before year’s end.
Copper off-metal strike (pattern?) of a 5 Peso gold.

I just snagged this:
This 79-CC fell into my lap just as 2024 started to come to a close. Very happy to acquire such a nice example in rattler holder
My current "Box of 20"
I started a new set and jumped right in with what will surely be the toughest coin. It's only the second of the date Heritage has ever sold, and it's the only denomination Great Britain minted that year. More on the set here: https://forums.collectors.com/discussion/1109919/
This will be my last purchase for this year.

This is likely my last coin for 2024. It arrived yesterday. The year is ending on a good note with this bargain BIN for a choice raw AU coin with golden brown toning. This provides some evidence that there can be a "Santa Claus in Coins" every once in a while.
Edited to add: this is the seller's photo but is very representative of the coin except it doesn't show enough of the luster on the reverse.
This is it. It’s been a great year for new pick ups. This one is PCGS AU58+
This is probably the last one for 2024 ... 1825 CBH in PCGS XF45. Not in hand yet.

I just couldn’t resist this one
Period 1 Cal fractional round dollar BG603 VF details damaged. These are generally very difficult to find and can be pricey. The round dollar series (601-607) only has 32 total PCGS graded examples. This one was at the right price as a damaged example.

@1madman . Nice try but I'm holding out for one struck 19 times
Not a coin but I really like this recent pickup that I'm anxiously awaiting its arrival from Great Collections. This was an obscure Washington County bank (near the Lake George area) that closed its doors in 1930. It is one of just two notes reported from the bank and it came from the first sheet issued after the bank opened in 1906.

One of the best strikes I’ve seen on a FS 53-S and extremely reasonable IMO time will tell
Almost for sure unless something happens this weekend ... otherwise the next one will be at one of the New Year Auctions in and around FUN
This was a inexpensive pick off eBay

My last purchase was very humble. Business is slow for me this time of year.
Looking forward to next year though!

Total impulse buy , but the coin has original skin in the centers and vibrant color

I image that you probably know that this is a considered to be a pro-southern, copperhead Civil War token. The "Live and let live" message with the agricultural products was a subtle call for the North to end the war and let the South go in peace.

I have a couple of items that interest me in auction, but since I won't get those in 2024 if I am successful, this is my last coin, the Northumberland shilling. Sorry, it's not American.
This piece was made for some silver that was captured from the Spanish. The earl of Northumberland ordered 2,000 pieces to be made for circulation in Ireland. The total mintage was more like 100,000, but the coin is still scarce and popular. This piece was issued in 1763. The British would not issue another shilling, which was an important coin in their monetary system, until 1787. That gap was symbolic of the disfuntional monetary system under King George III.
I have been looking for one of these coins for about a year. The angle shot is provided to show the luster. The piece is PCGS graded MS-64.
One last, and it's a good one.

Yes - I have both pro-southern and pro-northern CWTs in my collections.
I find the imagery, artistry and symbolism used to express different values and political messages across history fascinating.
This is my last purchase of the year. It’s an off-center 2000 ANA steam press medal.
Working on the Texas commemorative set 1934-38, up to 8 of the 13, with two auctions pending.
A pretty common date, but a very cool look to it.
