My sole 1843 with reverse die cracks in p35. Had a 43-o in p20 a while back but sold it.

Here are my 1843 and 1844 issues

1843 PCGS EF40 - a nice one for the grade

    1843-O PCGS VF35

1844 PCGS XF40 - another nice one for the grade

    1844-O, reverse of 1843-O Large O - PCGS F15

1844-O PCGS XF45 - not so attractive for the grade it got - but hey, I bought it raw

Freddie, yes, I am both. Very nice examples of those two dates!
I'm trying to pace the progression so that the entire series is covered before I go on vacation May 2nd.

@fastfreddie That "XF45" 1848 is a problem coin. The problem is that it's an AU55 in an XF45 holder. Send it back! :D

I'm not sure Don, my 2014 1847-O had a mark in the field by liberty's nose that I don't see on your coin. But they do look very similar.

This thread is bringing back so many fond memories of coins long gone. And thanks to everyone for your continuing participation! Please post your 1849 and 1850 quarters.

PCGS XF45 CAC - purchased from GFRC in 2015.

PCGS XF45 CAC gold - purchased from GFRC in 2022.

PCGS AU53 CAC - purchased from Mike Verhulst in 2023, the current coin in my set.

PCGS XF40 CAC - purchased from the Carolina collection in 2015. Other than the AU53 CAC 1843-O quarter, I miss this coin more than any other coin from my previous sets.

PCGS VG8 CAC - purchased from Mike Verhulst in 2022.

NGC XF40 CAC - purchased from Kearney Coin Center in 2022, the current coin in my set.

PCGS VF35 CAC - purchased from Revick Galstaun in 2015.

@Crepidodera I see several sweet coins in that last group, but the 1849 PCGS AU53 and the 1849-O PCGS XF40 really stand out. 1849-O is no slouch in XF and higher grades, never mind with nice surfaces.

    1849 PCGS XF40

    1849-O PCGS F12

    1849-O PCGS VF30

    1850 PCGS XF45 "1" on lower rim

    1850 PCGS AU58 "1" on lower rim

1850-O PCGS XF40 - has traces of luster and feels like XF45 to me

I felt the same, but maybe 50 or 53. But after seeing others posted in similar grade it would appear that the grading is about right. Seems there is little variation between xf40 and AU53 in look on many coins here I've seen. Of course viewing in hand may bring little nuances that make the difference.

Let's see your 1851 and 1852 quarters, two challenging dates in the liberty seated quarter series.

PCGS VF20 CAC - purchased from GFRC in 2015.

PCGS XF40 CAC - purchased from GFRC in 2018.

PCGS VF30 - purchased from DLRC in 2022.

PCGS XF40 CAC - from a Heritage auction in 2023, the current coin in my set.

PCGS XF40 CAC - purchased from Tough Coins in 2015, a real beauty!

PCGS VF30 CAC - purchased from Lenny Rizzo in 2019.

PCGS XF40 CAC - purchased from Alex Ralston in 2022, the current coin in my set.

PCGS XF40 CAC - purchased in 2014 from Harry Smith.

PCGS AU53 CAC - from a Great Collections auction in 2022.

PCGS VF35 - purchased from Liz Coggan in 2022.

PCGS VF35 CAC - purchased from DLRC in 2022, the current coin in my set.

PCGS VF25 CAC - originally purchased from Dick Osburn in 2015. Sold to Lenny Rizzo and repurchased in 2022. The second of three coins with only one example owned in the last ten years.

1852 PCGS XF45 - purchased raw from the same album

1853 anyone? One of the more interesting years of liberty seated quarter production. The most common and
rarest (in my opinion) Philidelphia mint coins of the series.

PCGS AU55 CAC - purchased from GFRC IN 2014. Never liked this coin very much, too dark.

PCGS VF30 CAC - from a Heritage auction in 2020.

PCGS AU53 CAC - purchased from Coin Rarities Online in 2022, the current coin in my set.

PCGS XF45 CAC - purchased from Holsonbake Numismatics in 2014.

PCGS AU58 CAC - purchased from David Kahn in 2016.

PCGS AU58 CAC - purchased from John Marburger in 2019.

PCGS AU58 CAC gold - from a GFRC auction in 2022, the current coin in my set. I disagree with the gold CAC on this
coin, very light high point circulation.

PCGS VF25 - purchased from Brian Greer in 2011.

PCGS XF45 CAC - purchased from GFRC in 2020.

PCGS XF40 CAC - purchased from GFRC in 2020.

PCGS VF25 CAC - purchased from Sarasota Numismatics in 2021.

PCGS VF25 CAC - purchased from Christopher's Coins in 2022, the current coin in my set.

VF20 - I agree, it's the rarest Philly seated quarter. And, another yellow tinted "true" view. :s

VF25 - looks like it is your former coin @Crepidodera

P40. My first seated quarter purchase. Bought raw that only had the obverse picture for the princely sum of $35 in 2006

    1853-O PCGS XF45 - a condition rarity

Let's finish the day with 1854, a common year. I've never owned a huge O. It's always available, and the price is too high for a variety.

PCGS VF35 - from a Stacks Bowers auction in 2014.

PCGS AU55 CAC gold - originally purchased from DLRC in 2016, repurchased from Jim Merulla in 2021. The current coin in my set. Nearly flawless.

PCGS AU50 CAC - purchased from Alex Ralston in 2018.

PCGS AU53 CAC - from a GFRC auction in 2022, the current coin in my set.

    XF40

VF30 - I agree, the Huge O is way overpriced. I owned a F12 before and never liked it as a variety.
