Frank Krause aka Broadstruck has passed away

I have been trying to reach him since April 23rd. We spoke briefly on the night of the 22nd. I am told by a very close friend of his that it was very sudden.

I know he meant so much to so many people on this forum and his personal life. The hobby has lost another great person. Frank was a walking dictionary on all things coins..........everything from eye appealing coins, errors and tokens, medals.

I am beside myself as I was close to him and still don't know how to process this. 
I never thought that I would be writing about Frank as I always thought it might be him to report about me.

Wow, so sorry to hear, Frank was a great numismatist.
Oh no!! Truly one of the good guys here. I always enjoyed reading his posts, always an upbeat and positive poster. He will be greatly missed on these boards. RIP!! Gone far too soon. My condolences to all his friends here and at home. :'(

I met Frank numerous times over the years at the larger shows such as Baltimore, FUN or the ANA. He always had cool coins, lots of information and was quite affable. Given recent posts mentioning his absence, I had been concerned that perhaps prior health issues had overtaken him.
Again, RIP.

I am totally devastated, Frank was a kind and loving father to his son, supporter of is sister and her family, and a true friend to many of us, always someone you could count on for good advice on coins as well as how to navigate the bumps in the road of life.
I simply cannot grasp that he is gone at a young age. My condolences to his son and his family.

Sad news. He liked copper and tokens so I knew he had to be a cool guy.
We have to keep his "Copper for the Weekend" thread going in memory.
Successful BST deals with mustangt and jesbroken. Now EVERYTHING is for sale.
I was driving home on April 23rd when I got a call from his sister. She never called me directly before, so I knew it was not good news: "Frank's gone."
I was stunned, and almost had to pull over to digest the news. He was a true friend, numismatic scholar of the highest order, avid audiophile and music lover, and person of the utmost integrity who truly cared about people. We spoke almost every day and shared our love of coins and exonumia, and audio. He was one of a kind, and was called home at the far too young age of 53. My only guess is that they needed some expertise on the other side that only he could provide...rest in peace, my friend.

I've DMed him back and forth for I think a good 20 years+ about this, that and the other thing, but never was lucky enough to actually meet him. Always knowledgeable, and a very thoughtful guy and a genuinely class act. I'll miss him.

Frank was a great person and fellow Jersey boy. Never got to meet up, but we had many phone calls and messages over the years. He was one of the most knowledgeable guys I've met on the subject of tokens and medals, and he was happy to share that knowledge with all.
A few years back, Frank told me he was contemplating selling his large collection of Hard Times tokens and buying a farm. I think in the end, he decided against it. He was still passionate about the collection he formed, and he knew the pieces were irreplaceable.
But I'd like to think he went ahead and somehow did both.
God, I'm gonna miss this guy.
RIP, Frank. May you be in a better place, a place with copper for every weekend.
