    Is there a grade limitation on these if they are not FH? Also you have to ask why the Segs graders did not grade it higher?

    I think SEGS was right. 65.

    There's no grade limitation for non-FH examples, just as there aren't for coins with other designations, such as FB, FBL, etc.

    It would be interesting to see how the grade guesses would have differed, had the coin's prior grading history not been disclosed.

    In theory, it would not matter. I know that I for one would call that coin a 66 based off of the images no matter what holder it was previously in, and I try to keep this objectivity to my grading. Of course, we all know that opinions would be influenced by the previous history no matter what.

    MS63….Gotta say i am baffled…I have taken to heart the phrase “Be curious not furious “
    Is it possible whoever ever typed the grade into the label made a mistake?
    Next question, course of action?
    Crack out and resubmit?
    Regrade?
    CAC and maybe a Gold bean?
    Advice please!

    Pardon me, as I don’t know the degree of your grading expertise - but if it’s not substantial, I suggest getting an in-hand assessment from an expert, if possible.

    @MFeld I have been a PCGS member since 2011 set up and sell at 6-8 shows in the PNW every year…set up a the ANA show in Colorado Springs this year…currently waiting on roughly 100 coins at PCGS…
    Consider myself fairly savvy…..the true view is accurate…i graded the coin raw as a 65….

    This lone guess was correct, there must be something here we don't see.

    I agree with the CAC angle, that would be cool if you got a gold bean.
    I'd leave it as is, if that was the case.

    I did not offer an opinion as to the grade. I like the coin based on the images. And I will take a moment to complement the PCGS photo team that creates such great images. Seems the complement has greater meaning and sincerity when it is NOT my coin. I will take this moment to suggest that a full shield designation would have a far more significant impact that a full head. I see the end grade result which I thinks others have also expressed suggest it was worthy of a higher grade. So we sort of go full circle back to the strike and the shield and that is the best answer I can offer as to the grade...

    Well, it seems that it’s a lot more fair to rush to judgment before the grade is revealed, rather than afterwards.😉
    The lone 63 grade matched the assigned grade, but based on the images provided, I believe that it was incorrect.
