My post count is now 10k.
Last year Winesteven suggested I have a 10k giveaway of a Cameo proof Franklin.
It shall be done and the winner will receive a 1950s era Cameo half.
The contest will be described at the end of this post.
I went to Long Beach Thursday and Friday. I previously went in 2004.
I attended primarily to drop off my second submission of coins to our host. Secondary reasons were to socialize, view the Tyrant Collection, brouse the bourse and get away from work for a couple of days.
I submitted numerous coins. They include US and World coins, circulated coins, MS coins, Proof coins, toned coins and well known varieties. The coins included dates from 1794 to 1983. True views were requested. Submissions were both economy and regular.
The process of organizing the coins, placing them in flips, filling out submission forms, standing in line and meeting with PCGS staff handling in person submissions was time consuming and labor intensive. The PCGS staff I dealt with were great. Props to them.
Now I sit back and wait.
I spoke with multiple dealers. Always a treat. I wandered the bourse to look at displays and offerings. Saw some fantastic coins.
The Tyrant Collection is off the charts amazing. I was overwhelmed by the size of the exhibit, the coins on display and the accompanying photographs and written information about each coin. TMI.
If one could look at each coin up close and personal, with adequate time and no interruptions that would be coin nirvana. However doing so would, for those with a thirst for knowledge, be frustrating as one could devote years of study to this collection and only scratch the surface of the complete story of these coins.
Viewing the Tyrant collection was a treat and is highly recommended.
I bought a coin to upgrade my proof Franklin registry set. See attached photos. Very frosty.
So for the give away, the winner will be the person whose prediction (of the date and time [PDT] that the final True View photo of my submitted coins will be posted) is closest to the actual date and time.

Thanks for the report.
If you’re planning to submit coins at a show it becomes so much easier if your membership is up to date and the submission forms are filled out and raw coins are in the required flip.

Also thanks for sharing the Long Beach experience. Alas I have never been to that show but hope to one day.

Glad you enjoyed the show. When I was there on Thursday, I saw a small line of people waiting to submit coins to PCGS. There was a huge line of people submitting sports paraphernalia. I'll limit the giveaway to people who collect Franklins. Congrats on the big 10K.
