That looks to be clear PMD to me. It looks like someone ground out that obverse section as the missing metal stops at a flat shelf mid-coin.

Is "NIFC" a coin roll hunting acronym? What does it mean? After viewing all your neat finds, I am going to search through my many containers of loose coins from the past 10 years or so. Kind of like CRH w/o the wrappers.

For half Dollars NIFC dates are 1987, and all dates from 2002-2020.
