Wouldn’t that imply that they are found in mint sets and souvenir sets and for a few dollars can be had in high grade? I don’t get what’s so special about finding a beat up 2004 Kennedy in circulation.

You could also purchase them in rolls from the mint. Most of the ones I find are Bu, probably from a roll dump or mint release of rolls that were hidden away in treasury vaults. There are not too many junkers in the NIFC coins, but I do find more than one every once in a while. I throw them back. They aren't worth keeping. All the 1987's I found are really nice BU coins. Circulated clad proofs ain't worth keeping either. Nobody wants any of them.

This weeks 1/2 dollar search finds (Search of $2000 face):

    90% 2-1964-P's
    40% 2-1967, 2-1968-D, 1-1969-D
    Proofs-1
    NIFC's (Keepable ones) -3
    total finds 13.
I do have a buyer for 1976 halves in AU+ or better condition. I find an average of 25 or so per box.
Also found a bent 2019 penny in a half dollar roll stuck between two half dollars. Fortunately, all 20 halves were in that roll also.

I still have two unopened bank boxes of pennies in my closet. Where does the time go.

I have several half boxes that I abandon for a while if they’re no good.
Then they get stacked in drawers and saved for a rainy day.

And I’m looking for a golden mule ticket. If not I’ll settle for a wounded eagle or a straight graded MS68 to cover.

    EDIT: NIL

    So far, two interesting finds.

    Found this strange Jefferson.
Sure it looks worn but i think it's something else? Maybe some sort of Brockage? No Date but maybe a D Mint mark? Two things we know, not a wartime silver and the date would have to be earlier than 1965. Whatcha guys think? Thanks

The closest pic I can take for a chance at the date. Not clear at all.

    Also Found This

1950p Thought it might of been the Big 1950d? But NO. Still cool tone.

@joeykoins : Dryer coin or acid dipped - the weight will tell the difference. Acid dipped/soaked coins will weigh lighter than the norm

Came across some interesting rolls today, mostly copper with some high grade 80s zincs, my favorite!
Saving the window roll for last, I haven’t seen one of these since the mid 70’s as a youngster helping my grandmother roll pennies. Which is a nice reminder of another of my favs.
Her influence took over 40 years to stick, God I miss that woman :)

The tale of 2 half dollar boxes. This weeks half-dollar finds ($1000 total- $500.00 face value per box):

    Box #1 (skunk) :/:/ finds:
    15 NIFC's 6-2009-P's and 9-2009-D's,
    1 proof-1983-s
No silvers - Worst box ever.

Box#2 :):):) (whatever the opposite of a skunk is) finds:
    11 - 40% B)
    3-90% all 1964-P Kennedys
    1 NIFC 2004-P - Best box ever!!

Both of these boxes were obtained from the same bank at the same time!

    Finally!!!
This is how long it took for these to show up as fresh rolls...and I'm in Denver lol!
Not only that but I live only about 6 miles from the Denver Mint, true.

My banks are large local Chase banks and local Credit Unions...Some of them are even closer to the mint.

I still haven't seen rolls of Tuskegee at any of my banks either if you can believe it.
I'd really like some Maya rolls!!!

I'm opening these two (carefully) in just a few minutes...searching for some special specimens

@Kurisu Good luck with those. I’ve been struggling to find any new quarter rolls lately.
I wonder if I could get them directly from Loomis? I own a business just not a bank and not sure how that works.

Apparently it is possible. Tomorrow I will check costs, minimums, etc. along with other local armor car services.
Wouldn’t that be nice! Boxes of coinage delivered to your door :)
