Can anyone explain what Designer Edition - First Day of Issue is vs a Designer Edition First Strike, vs Designer ? I understand loosely what First Strike and First Day of Issue are, and I know the obvious differences between Types 1 and 2. At what point are we categorizing the holders and not the coins? ( Sort of surprised the Burnished Special Finish isnt in there )
Designer Edition - a designation that indicates a particular coin came from a specific set. In this case, from the "designer edition", 21XJ.
FDoI - coins delivered to PCGS on the first official day of their release, or sent in sealed packages postmarked on that date. As I understand it, this designation is only available through the bulk submission program.
First Strike - coins shipped within 30 days of the initial release. In select instances, only the coins need to be submitted to PCGS within the first 30 days of issue. After the cutoff date, PCGS will accept an unopened box with a 'postmark/packing slip' date prior to the cutoff. Reference
Note #1 - As highlighted above by @MsMorrisine, these rules are conditional. Take, for example the two ASE coins in 21RCN. These coins were released individually earlier in the year (i.e., 21EA and 21EMN). So, to 'prove' that your ASE coins were actually from the set (and get the "limited edition" designation), you would have had to submit a sealed box. This 'is/was' the only way for PCGS to confirm that the coins were actually part of the set, and not from the earlier releases.
Note #2 - While not documented on the "First Strike" webpage, PCGS has partnered with APMEX on their "Mint Direct Premier" program. I have never tried it, but the 'coins/tubes/boxes' are supposed to be eligible for "First Strike" indefinitely if unopened.

Can we request grading just those 2 ASE coins, and also request that they return the other 4 without doing anything to them?
Not exactly the same but I sent unopened box for the limited edition two coin ASE and in that box was a state quarter my son wanted. I only filled out the submission for the two coin and told them to send the quarter back and they did. Have never tried it breaking up a set
100% positive transactions with SurfinxHI, bigole, 1madman, collectorcoins, proofmorgan, Luke Marshall, silver pop, golden egg, point five zero,coin22lover, alohagary, blaircountycoin,joebb21

Good to know. Thanks.
Just heard from them. Yes, you can break up a set. You must add ALL coins to the order first (so you get a line number for each of them), then put in the Notes which line numbers you don't want graded.
It’s kinda random I seem to remember the Tuskegee offering going sold out quick. Type 1W proof unavailable congratulations sold out. Housekeeping sounds as good a reason so far as I can see. I really was hoping the 1oz. Air Force and Coast Guard metals make it. Way things are maybe better off waiting until the mints do some housekeeping 😉
Up this morning
Along with Unc gold. Late last night the enrollment for the 2022W ase opened for a little while. Will do some research later 🙀😉
8 minutes and done for today

My two sets of RP ASE's are in encapsulation, no grades yet.
You still have a very long wait to get grades. The grades need to be finalized, coins encapsulated, QC process, Payment Process. I would guesstimate 4 more weeks before you see grades.
That's OK. I went First Strike Economy so I'm not in any hurry. In QA now.
Okay so early in this thread speculation was that 350.00 was the going price. I suppose now it's back down below 200 right ? Wonder why the dates look so different ?
I just received a PR70 from our hosts for both of these coins these that I ordered the first day. Another big win! These show what the US Mint can do when they want to, and are not rushed like the Morgan's seem to have been. My True View images are delayed, or I would post them.

Congratulations Goldminer, very nice set and seems like reasonable turnaround time as well.
Those rev proofs were fast turnaround, as was my $100 Liberty which got a 69. That is one of those I did not see a problem with. I sometimes wonder if the tiny speck they must have seen at some point is ever caused from handling during the process. Oh well.

Don’t see much else but this with HHL1🤨
I took a peak at about 3:45 and I saw it was up. Was going to give it a go and was half way through a guest checkout when it was no longer available at 3:50. Opportunity is still out there for those wanting it. The question for me... do I need a fourth?

Thinking the same thing and at $200 on eBay I guess I like the thrill of catch and release more than getting another set🤨. Winter is coming and the days of getting up early and running the cats 🐈 will stop until the spring. Probably still check 😂

Good luck. They weren’t available for a few days. Noticed the sold out sign on limited edition set and the congratulations set but none of the ase proofs or much of anything else
Ya $25 They didn’t make anything, heck they may have lost $. I have thought about time for some. Heck I’m retired and love getting up early and checking availability. Hours on the forum but for working folks time is money and allotted accordingly. I am surprised that the best quality and looking coins are going down the fastest. Weird!
The one I don't understand is the 2021 US Mint set. No limits but never available. Next month is the end of the year. Maybe if they had a product mintage limit there would be some showing up in the mornings too.
As you know I am an early riser and check every morning. The mint set is a pain. Never up and those who get them say they are lacking in (guess what?) quality. The burnished ase was up for 20+ minutes today. Nothing else. Very strange how quickly the mint sets went unavailable. And that’s that, best I recall they have not re-appeared. 🤨
They are on eBay $35-45 and not a bunch there 🙀
If the mint coins the uncirculated coins this year, then any new sets can be sold next year. I’m always hoping for you guys, but prospects don’t look good

I wish PCGS posted a FAQ for these scenarios.
I do not know.
Perhaps someone else will respond; you could also contact PCGS CS and inquire.
Good luck with your submission.

Well available this morning but HHL is still 1🙃
🎶 shout shout, let it all out 🎶
They are still available. I got caught on the HHL. I guess three is enough, not like I really need another
I just got to open and look at one of these sets that arrived yesterday. They are real nice looking coins but the packaging sure is cheap.
Next, they will arrive in sandwich bags.
Still available after 1.5 hours...can anyone get a read on how many are left in inventory?
maybe this is a final push before hanging up the sold out sign? noticed that a bunch of gold pieces are now labeled sold out.
Just got another after jumping thru hoops to avoid the HHL! It's crazy after all this time there is still availability and the HHL still in place.
Four hours later and "AvailableCount" is at 57 remaining.

I got 1 from the USM and last week bought a 2nd for $199. Buying the 2nd was less stressful than ordering the 1st set.
