I don’t want this thread to tank. A lot of our members here attended and it was a calculated risk and a return to normalcy. I created the thread for their awareness is all.

Thanks for sharing this. I did not receive the email notice and would not have known about this. I was surprised to see dealers eating lunch out in the open while also working with customers. Seemed risky.

Got the email too. I wore a mask the whole time and was exercising caution. Thankfully no signs of symptoms. Will continue monitoring myself.

Yeah, I took a test yesterday and it came back negative. I haven't felt symptoms or anything either. Not surprised, though, I think we (being attendees and dealers) knew the risks and were fine with them. There's always a chance you pick it up, but being vaccinated and a full-time remote employee, plus the fact my wife went out of town the next day after I got back, made me quite comfortable with those risks.

I hope those who did contract it don't have too rough a time with it. My best to them.

Thanks for letting me know. I also did not get an email. I got tested on Monday for this very reason since you can test positive 3 to 5 days from exposure (Thursday was my last day).
I will pray everyone that gets bit recovers quickly without any side effects.

Successful transactions with: Lakesammman, jimineez1, Flackthat, PerryHall, bidask, bccox, TwistedArrow1962, free_spirit, alexerca, scooter25, FHC, tnspro, mcarney1173, moursund, and SurfinxHI (6 times)

I just got the email less than 30 minutes ago. I went to see my dealer today, but he was out. His son told me he ended up skipping the show and had heard about some dealers testing positive.

some will be carriers and be asymptomatic.

then there are the vaccinated who can also be asymptomatic.

    I recommend everyone get tested.

Again this thread is meant to inform our members here about the info ANA sent out, not to devolve which will get it shutdown. I wish Heather would put a little message up top about it.

I totally support the thread; just curious why some people being informed are more important than others. It’s not me complaining it’s just asking why our ANA leaders aren’t doing more so our community can prosper.
This is definitely a service to the numismatic community. Companies are leaders with LARGE email lists should forward this to everyone; attendees and friends of attendees. I sincerely apologize if you read it differently as I am behind you.

Does the ANA have your email in file and do you get regular emails from them?

At this point in time, I have not received any email from the ANA concerning this issue. They have my email address. Last email I received from them was in June. I will get myself tested later today. Thank you for the information and the thread.

@Boosibri... I see you were wearing the proper mask (KN95)... Excellent.
So many just wear a cloth or paper mask, ineffective against virus. Sorry to hear some people have contracted the virus.... of course, it may not have happened at the show - could have been at hotel, in crowds, travel stops, restaurants.... It is a dangerous virus for older folk or those with co-morbidities. Cheers, RickO

Yes, The ANA has my email ON file, not sure it’s “in file”. Also, yes I do get regular emails from them especially when I donate money.

Of the dealers who tested positive, I'd love to know the percentages of vaccinated vs. non-vaccinated. As I mentioned in another thread, I was wearing my vaccination card in a separate badge holder at the show. A couple of dealers had mask-only signs at their tables, including Fred Weinberg, but when they saw my vaccination card in the holder, they said "Come on down."

Maybe try keying less on an iPhone and feeding a baby while considering a class in grammar. Your comment on being “very additive” was close also.

You might also think twice before attacking a member on wether they’re receiving emails from the ANA before checking to see if they’re a life member. Otherwise I wouldn’t have replied at all.

    Haha

I preordered an ANA badge for admittance to the show. It's probably the only reason I received the email. I hope all the dealers with Covid symptoms recover quickly!
