That is terrible to hear. Julian was a really nice and personable guy. We talked coins at a few area NW shows. Wow, very sad. Prayers to him and his family.

He reached out to me to offer help with my rattler set, and I got to trade stuff with him.
Sad news. Julian was a fine fellow.

I never met him in person. I knew him thru the forum. I sold him a couple of rattlers. We exchanged phone numbers and we would text. I sold him some nice slabbed Roosevelt dimes for his set he was working on. Last week he mentioned he had caught covid and wasn't feeling well.I texted his phone tonight only to get a reply from Linda that he had passed. I liked Julian and would have liked to have met him.

Reading between the lines of some of his recent posts, he may have been unvaccinated. Probably was unvaccinated.

All I'm gonna say is get vaccinated so the odds of this happening to you are greatly reduced.

Condolences to his family and friends.

@DelawareDoons and @Treashunt … how about we stick to condolences and prayers and, if any, personal stories with Julian here?? Have some respect.

We have ZERO idea as to his deeper beliefs/motivations. We have ZERO idea as to his medical history or anything of the sort. We have ZERO idea whether he would or would not support your comments, even if he was still here to add his comments.

That’s the point, he’s not here, so in a thread notifying about his death—it’s tacky beyond words to insert your .02 on vaccines, even if you think you’re being virtuous for the common good. (And I’m a frontline social worker who was vaccinated early on—so don’t go there with me either.) The only exception I can see here is if a direct loved one/family member chimed in … but that’s clearly not you.

I like how you just assume I'm not also a frontline worker who was vaccinated earlier on too, and didn't just got his third shot a month ago, and that hasn't watched hundreds of bodies roll down to the morgue.

Get the shot. Probably don't die. Fin.

    Thank you for your response.

Yes, we don't know what his situation was, I was simply hoping not to read about another victim of this terrible virus.

And for the record, @SeattleSlammer how was I disrespectful?

Same thing happened on the Kayak fishing forum bigwatersedge.com

    bigwatersedge.com/bwevb/showthread.php?t=36566

    True Story ....

One of the best kayak halibut fishermen in SoCaL was convinced NOT to get vaccinated by certain forces in this great country.

He was a young guy in his 30's and supported his mother and father. He and his dad are dead of Covid and his mother is left to fend for herself.

    Please get vaccinated for humanity.

If it saves another life then it was not done in vain.
Airplane crashes are horrible, but it’s important to ask why and find the cause so that we can find ways to prevent a repeat.
If he passed away from covid then the topic of how it happened and how it could have been avoided is relevant, and if it saves even ONE life it is worth your feeling of “disrespect”....
Didn’t know him I’m a newbie myself but RIP to a fellow coin collector!
