My vintage bulk value entered 10/12/2020
    Assembly 7/14/21
    Qa1. 8/20/21

Collecting Clemente master (#6) and basic PSA registry sets, Hank Aaron master and basic sets, Mantle oddball issues, 1970's mega decade HOFs, 1967 Topps pin ups, and high grade Topps Clemente and Aaron. Numerous transactions with over 100 board members.
  • Looking closely at the clemente standing up , The right edge under clemente looks like it tapers in. this is probably why it's being called miscut. I guess better than trimmed and having to pay for it. :(

I can see that. Guess I was just shocked more than anything at first glance. Oh well. I’ve gone through the 5 stages of grieving; on to the next sub! Im still excited to get my cards back! Here’s hoping the Gilliam turns out great!

Do you collect ultra modern extinct things cards? I hear the 2021 Allen & Ginter Content PSA Customer 'Dino Poop Brown' Prism Holo 1 of 1 is this years big hit

Congrats! Is that Special #14 (The Jordan 90's basketball one)?

I'm waiting on 2 of those:
    1) Arrived 9/1, Entered 12/1
    2) Arrived 9/15, Entered 11/30

No movement for me... they are both still quite constipated.

Yes my last one of them I sent in. Don't understand the random dates. My other 3 subs I got back about a month and a half a ago.

FIFO processing at its finest! 🤨

  • Looks like I can't even check the status of my orders from the My Membership page anymore. They are SO old, they seem to have dropped off of the drop down list. I have to go to My Orders to confirm the disappointment that my orders are still stuck in grading.

  • My first ever PSA sub (Value Vintage - 1970/1971 cards) just shipped & should have it by Saturday. I checked the grades & felt some may have been 1-2 grades lower than pictures I've seen on eBay. Showing the 4 categories like Beckett would really clarify things. Since they use a Hubble Telescope to look at the cards, the downside is probably the surface whether it be fingerprints, hairline creases, etc. With Beckett if you get three 9s & one 7, you'll probably get a 7.5/8 at the most. So a bad grade in 1 category can really pull down the overall grade. Mine were all in the 4 to 5 range with one 6. I can't complain since they were all part of a garage sale find in a large brown paper bag over 40 years ago for a total of $1. An almost complete 1975 Topps set was also in that same bag. At $10 grading cost per card, it was a deal I couldn't refuse. From the time the sub hit grading to shipping was no more than 30 days. A Value Modern I sent in 2 weeks earlier is still in grading.

    Package arrived 10/26/2020
    Input into the system 1/22/2021
    Shipped 9/1/2021

Thanks, much appreciated! For some reason, PSA didn't use the inner sleeve, and some of the cards had slid way out position. Don't know if it damaged the cards, but it wasn't a good look.

    Here are some examples....

Grades posted for 125 card Pre 70's Monthly Special. Posted sooner than expected as it arrived on 10/01/20 and entered 1/13/21. 100 of the cards were two sets of 1938 FC Cartledge Famous Prize Fighters and the rest were low grade BB, BK, FB stars.

Grades were fine. No 10s among the boxers but did receive 20 9s including both Joe Louis cards. The rest mainly 7s or 8s.

Nothing stands out on other cards that were submitted based on cheap grading price alone.
The "best" were 1965 Topps AL Home Run Leaders-7.5, 1961 Fleer Rod Hundley- 7 and 1969 Joe Namath -7.

  • Finally just had one of my year olds move to assembly!

Does anyone know if I can get ahold of PSA accounting over the weekend? I had an order pop last night. But it says accounting hold. I think my daily debt limited was the problem. Am I screwed till Monday?

That's insane! Are the cards a special size or something? I would think re-holders should be a breeze for them.

Nope. 4 regular size 1960s Topps commons. They got cracked in shipping to a customer without damage to the cards. I just wanted them to reholder. They went through grading fairly quickly but now they're growing mold waiting to be reslabbed.

i know. just giving myself a hard time. and to prove your point right, i also went heavy on buying all the ohtani silver holo & color variations optic cards i could for under $5 at the time. i remember him getting knocked out the year prior, going under the knife and specifically NOT sending them in w this sub or any of the pack pulled tcu/refractors i ripped. absolutely kicking myself now. yes, im an idiot. i dont even look at what theyve been doing anymore. but back to your point, ohtani bounced back quite nicely. zero reason acuna cant. especially w/ the doctors and medical advancements today.

Value Modern made a big jump in the CTD today, 10/29/20 to 11/26/20 overnight and a reported 99% of October yesterday turning into 99% of November. For the first time it is now ahead of Ultra Modern on the CTD.

  • ejguruejguru Posts: 618 ✭✭✭

Seeing Blurry with a "Jan. arrived, March received" already pop is encouraging. I've got a few 2/9 vintage and modern orders (received Nov. '20) still in grading, but maybe not so far away. Anyone else with "March received" orders popping?

That's really puzzling. A re-holder should be a very simple exercise for them unless they re-grade the cards during the process to ensure the existing grades still stand? I don't know.

My order from yesterday advanced from Assembly to QA1 in one day. 🙏🏻 Both of my 60 card orders just took a day to assemble. Your 4 cards just get no love. 🙁

Oh, you mentioned they were already graded. I can't fathom why they can't slab 4 cards in 2-3 months after grading. Something seems up there.

I would have to think regular is getting close to finished which should free up more capacity to really get the value sub's moving. It is at 99% of May completed. With a March 31 shut down date, that is 2 months out in order entry

I have finally seen evidence of the types of cards people were sending in that has PSA so backed up. I’m sure many of you have seen these types of cards and I’m sure they have been floating around on different auction sites for months but this was the first time I saw some. I was browsing through Sirius’s auction last night and could not believe some of the cards I saw. People have sent so many commons from the 80’s through the early 90s, to be graded. I guess they were thinking since it’s 30-40 years old it must be worth something. I actually feel sorry for the people who submitted these cards because they are losing so much money! Not only were the cards not worth the cost of grading if they received a PSA 10 but most of the cards got grades of 7 or worse. I always knew a portion of the backlog was from people sending in these types of cards but to actually see it blew my mind even further! If you’re looking for any graded commons from that time Sirius might be your honey pot!

I do think that’s part of the issue. I still shake my head over the YouTube video of an Express submission reveal where someone paid $300 per to slab mid grade 1989 Donruss Griffey rookies.

Once these people try to resell their slabs, they’ll realize their mistake and stop submitting. That will ease some of the excess grading demand issues.

i have a reholder order that is less than 2 months away from the 1-year mark. one thing i've noticed about waiting this long is that it starts to affect your mental acuity. like i have a difficult time recalling a single card i sent in, but it matters not because all i'm fixated on now is getting to 365 at a bare minimum. God willing, in a few decades i want to be able to tell anyone who will listen that i once paid for a service that should've been completed in 2-3 weeks max, but it took 57. THEN i turned around and forked over money to that company again. AND i was completely sober throughout.

i may end up being chick repellent throughout the entire nursing home, but i guarantee you i'm gonna let this little nugget fly during a connect four game

you'll never be able to outrun a bad diet

I can’t knock this one too hard. At one time that card was bringing around $100+ on eBay. I even sent one of those to be graded 😳 but I looked it over VERY good before sending it. Come to think of it, the one I sent may have been a Tiffany. It’s been so long I honestly don’t remember. The card in that listing looks pretty good. I see a few tiny specks on the front so the back must have a gum stain on it to bring that card down to a 4.

tough to knock that one, what's amazing is that people are willing to spend money to buy that card, same goes for the 5 in the next lot that sold for $7 plus the juice.

I think the majority of us would have sent that card in and the bulk of us would not be expecting a 4. Even if there is a microscopic wrinkle that was missed or the grader imagined, the care would normally grade a 5. being graded a 4 means either there is something really bad or the grader was just a hard a$$.

if it was raw and sold as mint the buyer would probably be glowing how nice the card was

Agree but I still wouldn't send it to an auction house either. He might come out owing the house money as well. LOL. If it didnt sell would he have to pay another round of shipping costs?
