    If you're looking at the coin in a properly oriented PCGS slab...

    then the marks ARE above the scroll. :*

    Thanks @pursuitofliberty I just wondered for later on. I got it for a little more than regular "23 money (someone else recognized it an bid it up about $100 more before they quit bidding) I've been concentrating on Bust Halves and quarters lately but never posted any of them. Nothing as nice as a lot of the coins posted but I like them.

    This is the only forum that I could find for US Coins, is this were everyone goes?

    Yes, this is the right forum.

    As for the coin, I like it and think VF25 is about right. PCGS is always cautious with crosses (judging through plastic can be tricky and risky) so it might drop a grade which seems unfair but that's the nature of crossing. You might consider cracking it and submitting raw for a better shake.

    You will not have to pay extra for it to be certified as a broken 3. I'm surprised NGC didn't do this but I'm not that familiar with how NGC handles attributing Redbook varieties.

    Whether you should you leave it alone or get it in PCGS plastic is a personal matter. Yes, PCGS bust halves generally get better prices. But you have to balance that against the submission costs. Suppose it is a $350 coin. Would you pay $60+ for PCGS's service (which includes mailing both ways)?

    @Sarge8497 I agree with my friend Lance ... you found the right place, for sure. There are a LOT of very knowledgeable people here. Welcome to the forum!

    And his take seems spot on. I also like it as a VF from what I can tell ... it would probably garner more money in PCGS plastic, and it will definitely get more eyeballs when that time does come labeled as a Broken 3. However, as mentioned, there is cost in all that.

    Bust Halves and Quarters is a good mix ... (and Dimes, and Dollars and Half Dimes :D ) ... I'm sure we'd love to see some more of your finds. Feel free to reach out via PM as well if you ever need a hand with Busties.
