    If you collect ancient Roman coins, you see this constantly. It’s an example of the designer going back to his classical roots.

    I had the same thought when I was getting started in the 1960s. One look at a picture in “The Red Book,” and I knew that this was normal.

    Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

    When it comes to styled letters, the Peace Dollar pales in comparison to the 1936 Bridgeport half, with “In God We Trvst” and E Plvribvs Vnvn” on the reverse. It also has P.T. Barnvm on the obverse.
