One of a kind! Hang onto that one.
It's called the Roman alphabet, where the U looks like V.
Think of it as a type style or font.

Welcome. And that's just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to stylized digital uniqueness. Peace Roy

@Luckedup The V was used to represent Victory. Imagine if they had gone with In God Ve Trust instead?
All Peace dollars were made that way and the one you posted is a 1922, not 1921.

How did it happen? Intentionally.

If you collect ancient Roman coins, you see this constantly. It’s an example of the designer going back to his classical roots.
I had the same thought when I was getting started in the 1960s. One look at a picture in “The Red Book,” and I knew that this was normal.
Check this one out.

@Luckedup.... Welcome aboard. You have your answer above. Cheers, RickO
Man, not only is the U misprinted as a V, but the last 1 in the date misprinted as a 2! Double error!
Welcome aboard @Luckedup
You've come to the right place to get your answers.

Kennedys are my quest...
@jwitten I can't believe you caught that good eye lmao my bad 1922 ok
Back then they didn't have a "U" on their typewriters! (just kidding)
"When they can't find anything wrong with you, they create it!"
Cartoon time again?
When it comes to styled letters, the Peace Dollar pales in comparison to the 1936 Bridgeport half, with “In God We Trvst” and E Plvribvs Vnvn” on the reverse. It also has P.T. Barnvm on the obverse.
