Charlotte gold ... harder to find nice than Dahlonega gold.
On an iPad, so no photos.

I have several. Here is a newp that is sitting in the post office until I can pick it up on Monday. Can't wait. Been looking for a nice Charlotte dollar for a long time. I really didn't care about the grade too much, but if y'all insist, I will post it. (It is PCGS).

Variety 1 (formerly Variety 16-G): The so-called “earring” variety with a small, mint-made punchmark clearly visible on Liberty’s ear lobe. The first 1 in the date is very close to the bust while the second 1 is close to both the neck and the denticles. Both 1s are further from the bust than on Variety 2. This variety is sometimes seen with boldly clashed dies.

More lovely examples being posted here... some are old friends. This is the kind of thread I can get used to. @Boosibri - I very fondly remember that 1848-C QE and it's definitely one I'd love to have back.
I haven't had a chance to ask Todd to image the '51-C & '52-C below yet. The '51-C is a P45 and the '52-C is a P40.
