Charlotte gold ... harder to find nice than Dahlonega gold.
On an iPad, so no photos.
Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?
I have several. Here is a newp that is sitting in the post office until I can pick it up on Monday. Can't wait. Been looking for a nice Charlotte dollar for a long time. I really didn't care about the grade too much, but if y'all insist, I will post it. (It is PCGS).

Great coins all.
Hey Brian, what are you sipping on tonight? You seem to be garbling your words.
I'm into some Japanese whiskey after the Packer win tonight......I will be garbling my words in another 30 minutes or so.

Agree, but still my second favorite mint. Is calling it Rebel gold now taboo?
As long as you keep it in a museum.

Variety 1 (formerly Variety 16-G): The so-called “earring” variety with a small, mint-made punchmark clearly visible on Liberty’s ear lobe. The first 1 in the date is very close to the bust while the second 1 is close to both the neck and the denticles. Both 1s are further from the bust than on Variety 2. This variety is sometimes seen with boldly clashed dies.
it's crackers to slip a rozzer the dropsy in snide
More lovely examples being posted here... some are old friends. This is the kind of thread I can get used to. @Boosibri - I very fondly remember that 1848-C QE and it's definitely one I'd love to have back.
I haven't had a chance to ask Todd to image the '51-C & '52-C below yet. The '51-C is a P45 and the '52-C is a P40.

How many different mint mark punches did they use?
Love it! Although I must confess....I've never seen a chunk of gold I didn't like. CGRTS!
The whole worlds off its rocker, buy Gold™.

"here are some nice charlotte coins i used to own."
Ouch! I'm not too married to any coins I own EXCEPT my old American gold.
One day when gold goes through the roof I suppose I'll be a seller.

I like the idea, but not necessarily the premium. The 1851-c posted by @Cameonut and the 1839-c posted by @steveben are nice!
