Having seen the MS66 1799 $1 posted on here over the years the photos in the auction are not doing that dollar any due justice.

I looked at all 4 saints for sale.
I'm surprised at how awful 3 of them are.
The 11-D is marginal at best but it does have a CAC sticker for those of you into that sort of thing.

I saw the coins, fantastic:
I actually had Legend call me last week about the catalog, I haven't really won anything in a while, been a some what of an under bidder in previous auctions on a coin here and there. Asked me if I still wanted to receive it, (I am actually liquidating most as we speak so I havent been an aggressive bidder), but said "You got to to send me this one with bruce's coins, even though I cant afford any of them" but actually looking at the lots, there may be one or two I may consider.

High reserves will drive away potential bidders on some lots. Some buyers in that range just want the coins at any cost but others want the best price possible and don't like bidding against reserves. It will be interesting to watch the results.
There is plenty of money out there but will they want to spend it on US coins?

As I stated previously, 3 coins are reserved - the 1794, 1804 and 1795 eagle. The rest are all opening at 60% of low estimate...that’s not a reserve and it’s not a crazy opening bid. It’s exactly what they do with all their lots of that size.

The dollars get all the attention (deservedly so), but his early type pieces are pretty incredible too. The 1796 Dime in particular is just stunning.

I think I recall years back @TDN posting here some in-hand pics of Lot #26....4 of the first 5 Trades....they were exceptionally cool.
The rest of the auction looks amazing, too.....the Roadrunner rainbow Morgan’s are terrific on the whole.

Really unbelievable coins. The fact that they are gathered together in one set confuses the mind of how incredibly important each coin is in its own right. I'm going to take a shot or two despite dollars not being usually on my radar.
These dollars are impossible to find in these eye appealing grades, that are well beyond their plastic. I think the key to Bruce has always been combining solid technical grading with orginal skin and fabulous eye appeal (passing on the higher plastic grade if those elements are not present)
The date set of dollars really can't be reproduced IMHO. the starting bids on all but the top 3 coins would be rips. I don't believe any of those will sell for 50% on the dollar, even though Bruce has put them at risk. With the exception of the Simpson 1794 dollar (which is a very different beast from the Bruce's specimen strike), the 1795 st oswald and the recently announced Eliasberg 1804, none of these cons have rivals in the other sales from Stacks or Heritage that I'm aware of currently.
Time to get out the bucket of popcorn and enjoy history in real time.

The top one percent of household net worth starts at $10,374,030.10 (Per a quick Google search). Not enough to make much of a dent in this sale without taking on leverage.

I didn't hear anything about being excited or update in TDN's post. It's a matter of fact statement.
I imagine many people are fine and there are some apex coins here so it will be interesting to see what happens.

Perhaps after the sale Bruce will share his reasoning as to why now is the right time to sell his rarities. My guess is that there is some kind of risk factor that makes him uncomfortable.
