Here's one that hasn't been posted in this thread yet, I just got it in the mail today. It's the 6"x8" Nike promo that was distributed inside of the sneaker boxes during those early Air Jordans years.
Sotheby's auctioned off a pair of Air Jordan 1 game used autographed shoes worn by Michael Jordan in a game in 1985 for a whopping $560,000 they announced on Sunday. This sets a record for the most expensive shoes ever sold. They went on to say that 10 bidders competed in an all out bidding war for the shoes. They also said that they anticipated the shoes selling for $150,000 but they sold for over half a million! Somebody out there is doing pretty good financially today!
Can anyone explain what in the world is going on with Jordan cards, especially the 86 Fleer PSA 10's? How does it go from 30 to 50 to now approaching 100K in a matter of weeks? This is totally bananas. Is this legit? Is this really where the market is right now?

Yes, Jordan Mania is real and will continue. It may take a breather down the road but don't be surprised when it starts to move again. In my opinion, it's the end of the beginning.

Lol... when it starts again. 😆 there’s no reason for it to. Did Bill Russell’s cards go to a trillion dollars with his 11 championships? Nope!
Once this last dance dies off, and people stop shill bidding and hyping him, the prices will tank faster than a plane that ran out of fuel.

Sell while you can! And cross your fingers that you get an actual legit buyer, and not some Jordan “investor” that bids everything up to set “record highs” only to not pay for it.

This is the dump phase of pump and dump. Should be no surprise to anyone that has been following along the past decade.
Yep, I'm already starting to look into scooping back up some items I've let go in the past couple months. Just waiting to figure out where they settle.
Does anyone have a chart for the prices of Jordan rookies in PSA 7 and PSA 8 from say 1995 to present day?
How about the sticker in 8 and 9?
Would love to see how “regular” cards have escalated. What I mean by regular is what us average folks could have bought during the last 25 years. I know one of my fellow nerds, much smarter than me can amass this data.

Thoughts on cashing in on crazy prices right now raw vs. sending it off in my next bulk? It should end up being a top pop.
Cool pick-up! Is 99 the card number or year number?
Outside of his rookie year stuff I'd say that Jordan mania has slowed down considerably since The Last Dance. Many cards are still selling higher than pre-TLD but much lower than their peak during Jordan Mania.

99 is the year, these are all NNO. Fun little 32 card set with a handful of athletes, the MJ and Tiger as highlights, with Shaq, McGwire, Cynthia Cooper, Lipinsky, Moceanu, and Yamaguchi to round it out and what might be the RC for Buddy of Air Bud fame if you really want to stretch the athlete definition.
Thanks! Sounds like it will be on a trip to Newport Beach then.

Here is three of the seven boxes of unopened 1986 Fleer found in the storage unit in the Midwest find that are up for auction right now at Goldin Auctions. The price is still up to $120,000 with 28 days left in the auction. It is staggering to think of the impact that Michael Jordan has made on this hobby. His cards are just on fire.
Just checked back in to see what these sold for:
first 3 box lot: 264K with BP
second 3 box lot: 264K with BP
one single box: 109K with BP
Not bad for a $1000 storage unit find
1985 Watson Trophy rookie of the year dinner program signed by Jordan. This was the program for the presentation ceremony and dinner when Jordan received his rookie of the year trophy.
I found this one to be a little bit oddly priced. It is a 1992 Ball Street order form with a premier edition Ballstreet Michael Jordan card attached to it. There is a copy of this exact card by itself on Ebay for $6.00 + shipping, so maybe the fact that this one is still attached to the order form is the reason it is priced at a whopping $50,000.
Oct. 5, 1984 Michael Jordan NBA debut ticket stub. There are only 3 of these known to exist. This copy originally sold for $34,800 at heritage auctions in May 2020 and now it's on Ebay.
Thank you for the feedback. Just wanted to get your perspectives as I'm a casual collector. I was also curious if an iconic card's value would ever drop drastically and what might be the reasons for that.

The 86F Jordan has dropped before, after the huge 2016 run up in prices, but reset at a higher level than prior and has gone up significantly above that top since. If that card takes a bath, there are far larger economic concerns to be worried about.
They have already fallen from peak price. A ten “sold” for six figures but last few have been in the 70s and I wouldn’t be surprised to see them sell again in the 60s. This card is heavily price manipulated so expect lots of variance depending on the seller.

I think the only pack cooler than that is the laimbeer top; and I think Jordan pack in your link will sell for $16,000.
