Hey Onedollar, What is the process to send to pcgs? Are you sending in just the original mint box or putting that box inside another with the paperwork?
unopened mint box inside a shipping box with order submission paperwork in triplicate. go to their website if you're not a member you'll need to sign up for membership (I did the basic silver level), fill out submission forms, and follow their instructions for submission. this was a first for me so I hope I didn't goof up. the box is still sitting in their receiving dept. waiting to be input into their order program. good luck if you send yours in as well.

Wow I must of gotten mine in just before its in a holding pattern under grading but went the slow 12 to 20 day wait. I guess the long holiday did not help as they were closed for 4 days so we lost days right there. I am sure they will catch up and process maybe by end of day.

Look they have been on 4 days off like many people. It can take several business days to get packages open, and of course they have a backlog today. Don't worry, be happy (and patient).

Mine just got moved into Encapsulation today so looks like things are moving right along. Ps I am not really expecting much but maybe a 69 grade hope I don’t get STUCK with a 68. I been there before so I know what it feels like. Especially since it was one of the few that got a 68. Nothing to brag about.

That is exactly my point. He can replace his one signed COA with many PR70 silver eagles if he so desires. I just can't see the COA being worth that much to most collectors, but then again I have been known to be wrong before.

some collectibles aren't so easy to project future values. I remember putting Mickey Mantle (yeah, rookie issue) baseball cards in the spokes of my bike's wheels to make it sound like a motorcycle. (what did we care at the time) These COA's , as a limited edition and first time offer, have and will have staying power I believe. I know most everyone here wants one and will take a "chance" that it remains valuable.

there are a few millionaires (possibly billionaires) that collect coins and belong to PCGS to follow these. I'm unfortunately not one of them. the point being that if there is a perception of rarity they will put it in their collection. you have to remember, if they invest, they probably have an inside view of the value going forward. they made their money with foresight and really don't want to miss an opportunity and regret it with hindsight. these multi -thousand dollar purchases don't really put a dent in their lifestyles and probably they assign the purchase to a business expense account where there are tax breaks to take advantage of.. we, the commoners, are shut out unless we get lucky with our submissions. If we do get lucky, like Gluggo said, time to celebrate a little windfall.

I collected baseball cards in the 60's and put cards in the spokes of my bike held with wooden clothespins. We would never NEVER use a Mickey Mantle on our bike wheels.
you were more astute than we were, we weren't seriously collecting cards, plus we hated the yankees.
getting back to the coa conversation, my submission was officially received today and is in process. I was getting a little antsy but I knew the holidays plus the rush of submissions of this coin would slow progress. now, the exciting wait to see what grade I get and if I got a "golden ticket"!
Does one simply take PayPal for something like this or how does one make sure to protect himself? I have seen some listings where they say to contact them directly for payments over 10K.
I would think PP Friends & Family would NOT be my choice because it lacks any protection (buying). Regular PP and suck up the 2.9%....next to the Ebay fees that is minimal

I would have ended the auction eary and sell to the bidder if the bidder is one with high feedback among other things than to get a snipe from a zero feedback buyer.
I'd want to sell to the high bidder right now. 48000+ feedback no bid retractions in the last 6 months 100% positive feedback. His bid is $2 more than the underbidder so it's his high bid.If a buyer with a feedbackof 3 and joined a month ago snipes would have me sweating out the transaction

You really can't, that's why eBay is always a risk.
Although for $13k+, probably only legitimate coin dealers would be bidding. If you were to get scammed, eBay/police would probably take it seriously though - that's a felony amount of money.

P. erfect C. oin G. od S. ent ... I didn't see any video, I've just observed over time what added value comes with the PCGS
label. I understand the concern with spotting but wanted both the coin and coa in holders for the possible long shot of
