I wonder why anyone would want a plain jane coa without the associated coin. To me they go hand in hand.

Thank you I have yet to actually see a ### GOLD SHIELD ### version yet. Only the one with the American flag and one without all blue. I like the First strikes with the American Flag but I went with the Gold Shield. I guess I could always photo shop one but I don’t think one has been posted anywhere yet since there just now coming out of the grading shops. Soon they will be flooded with them as everybody will be getting theirs. I still have at least 14 days left. TYIA

Probably bots not properly configured to check that it is actually the coin.

I'm just glad I didn't get a "rattler" box. Has a better chance of being undamaged goods going in for grading.. also, I live in the desert and that's never a good sound to hear.

Don't shoot the messenger for posting this. :)

From Richard Giedroyc's column in Numismatic News, November 29, 2019:

"There has been some saber rattling recently regarding if coins encapsulated as First Strikes, accompanied by an autograph, and as other forms of modern grade rarities are a fad rather than a long-term collectible worthy of long-term interest. It may be becoming an oft-repeated phrase, but buy the coin, not the slab."

Well we know you should always buy the coin. Some like myself like a label variation to go with the nice quality coin. Technically every coin is a First Strike since they sold in minutes. I think this whole series of coin is a fad when the bubble burst that’s the question. I thought he put his words in a very nice way. Thanks for sharing.

I would pay a slight premium for 340. Just because I am a MOPAR fan and that is one of the engines :D I would imagine certain numbers may bring a slight premium, but nothing like 1-100. Number 30,000 might be kind of cool.

Why not a 426? I had one of only #500 Ramcharger's Stage 3 cross-rams in a lightweight Dodge that did well under 12 second quarter mile runs. Drove it for a while on the street for fun. That was my real golden ticket, but sold it in the early 70's. Worth 50 times now what I sold it for :'(

I had no numbers like that on mine. In fact no numbers.

Seriously, everyone beware of fraud. Most of these boxes absolutely can be opened from the side and look unopened. The tape is in the wrong spot.

Goldminer I put the tape on it prior to sending off to PCGS so yes good eye. But since it came directly from the mint I was not concerned it was tampered with. In fact I have videos and multiple picture of my repacking to PCGS.

Gluggo, I put extra tape on mine too, direct from the Mint.

That box with 26723 above really looks opened from the side to me.

I am just warning everyone buying "unopened boxes" from unreliable sources. I do not know for sure, but I don't think the Mint wrote certificate numbers on any of the boxes.

Yes I was thinking the same and I did see that video . But you have a good point anybody buying one 2nd hand should know their seller if not buyer beware. Good point. Last I will say while it does look smashes on the inside crease like Skully said there is always a reasonable scientific point. Not that I would want to guess what instrument was used to cause the crease for kccoin’s sake. I do hope #03 is in there cause I am hoping #02 is in mine. After all we know who gets #01.

Did you noticed how I posted a picture of the PCGS San Francisco’s Label on the other post that was since closed. I am adhering to the rules by posting a picture. o:) That way they won’t BAN you! B)>:)

I'm getting anxious about my submission. I know we had Thanksgiving yesterday but it was received on Tues. the 26th and still doesn't show under "view orders". I did expect a couple of days to get it into processing mode so maybe I'm just being over-anxious or impatient to see it moving forward toward the actual grading process. I don't need to be talked off of the ledge yet but all of this talk about this coin and I don't have anything yet to show and tell. OK, I will just wait and be quiet about it. ha ha :#

If you did not go express and write that on your package, you will wait a bit. If there are shows, or a surge of submissions, you will wait a bit more. If it is Friday after Thanksgiving and Brett gave everyone time off like he should for the Holiday and family, you will wait more. I have waited 4 months for some of my more obscure US Mint medal submissions, so give it time.

Good things sometimes happen to those who wait.

Looks like Prices are trending between $1,300.00 thru $1,500.00.

Apparently not but maybe if you call Ebay Customer Service and see let us know what they tell you. TYIA.
After all your paying for a digitally autographed Certificate. Would that not be like a a Babe Ruth digital signature what would that be worth in today’s market? Some people have more money than sense OR they forgot to read the part about “COA ONLY” would be my bet. Boy are they gonna be pissed 😡 when they get their package. Sparks are gonna fly!
