Not sure. I looked for it, but it isn't there. The rays on the reverse are broken, but no cheek mole.

I take it back. I just looked for it with the loupe and it is there. The lights may have been in a position that made the mole harder to see.

Perhaps a "no mole", or "weak mole" could be an attributed variety.

Thanks. My personal opinion is that the "1918" and "1919" are the best in terms of engraving.
The "1931-S" might be the lowest production year, however.

But there are still some more to go. The US Mint issued 10 different years of Peace Dollars (11 if a "2021" is included).
I might match that total. So far I've done "1917", "1918", "1919", "1931-S", "1964-D", and "1965". Next year I plan a "1970" for the 50th anniversary of the 1970 Peace Dollars that the US Mint struck (and destroyed) to test the striking of the new copper-nickel clad large dollars in preparation for the 1971 Eisenhower dollars. Also next year will be a "1920" Broken Sword. And the year after that a "MCMXXI" (1921 roman numerals). Another one that I might do is a "1936" proof (to go with a 1936 US proof set). If I did all those, the last remaining fantasy dates that I would probably consider are: "1929", "1930", "1932", "1933".

I know I've been a bit reclusive here the last year or so, my relatively new job of flying around the country buying coins & collections has me typically burning the candle at both ends which is why I haven't posted much here in a while. It is a pretty darn fun job, though, even with the immense workload. Anywho, I recently picked up a couple of sweeet multi-Struck Atocha Cobs and figured I'd share. Enjoy

Picked up my flock of various silver "eagles" today from the MM. Wow -- another impressive array of quality pieces from Mr. Dan. The 31 Peace is really nice but I agree that the Broken Arrows seem a bit better struck (maybe date biased?).
I was pleasantly surprised at the Peso pieces, bigger than I thought they would be. Glad I got in early before the Caballito price bump. Looks like they may be near the end as they are both Out of Stock currently. Same with the 09 Satin ASE. Better get the others while available!!
The Bust Dollars are a sight to behold! Imagine holding one of these freshly minted 214 years ago? The antiqued version seems to have a 3-color solution used: yellow, blue/green, and red. I'm tempted to leave one out to see what colors evolve naturally. Very pleased.

Yes. I'm pretty close to completing a fantasy-date type set of US silver dollars, so Seated and Trade over-strikes are likely at some point.

When I received my order of 4 coins, 2 of the eagles a 1805 bust and 1931 peace, I signed for them and immediately open them. The bust and peace were spotless but the eagles had problems. I was curious if anybody else had problem coins?

@Akbeez my OCD eye immediately goes to the spot between T and Y . @zonnk your eagles look like all my ms/Pr 70 slabbed ASEs that I paid big $ for - then the TPGs quit their grade guarantees 😜

Thanks -- I noticed that after I posted and had to pull that piece for another inspection -- I shot it the day after receiving. One other piece has a similar spot on the reverse. Curse of the ASEs! But all in all quite satisfied.

Dipping in Tarn-X (or similar) silver cleaner will probably stabilize the piece and help prevent any future "milk spotting".
If no such silver cleaner is available, soaking in clear vinegar for a minute or so might accomplish the same.

After the dip, completely rinse the piece and pat dry with a soft clean cotton bath towel (don't rub dry).

It is strange that two different Silver Eagles from different production runs would be the only ones (that I know of) to develop extensive spotting like that. The one thing that they have in common is that they were both in the same shipment (although the two .900 silver items in the same package did not spot).

Anyway, I mailed replacements earlier this week.

I think what ANACS actually meant by that was "Movie Prop, Nickel [composition]".

I don't know who produced the Type-3. Part of the confusion came about because I was not aware of the existence of the Type-3 until we asked if we could have some of the prop quarters after the movie was finished and what they sent us turned out to be all Type-3. None of the Type-1 or Type-2 pieces were returned and the only ones I had of those were the ones that I had made extras of and had never sent to the movie producers. After I first saw some of the Type-3 in ANACS Moonlight Mint holders, I asked ANACS to stop certifying the Type-3.

The coins arrived in flips not sealed from the environment. Placed in a corrugated adhesive coin mailer that was placed in a cardboard mailer. So the coins are in close contact with adhesive and no vapor barrier at all from external environment.
Suggest at least an air tight baggie or even better coin capsule placed in a air tight baggie.
Customer should not have to pay return postage for product that was received damaged as I did.
Vendor should use language that reflects taking ownership of problem, not language like strange and anyway that seems to deflect taking ownership of the problem.
