An important part of many good Cardinals teams and a great get for my set. The man they called ‘Mr. Shortstop’ was solid with the bat and the glove and was voted the NL’s most valuable player in 1944.

here's a few more cards. putting most of em in pages as have no more hard holders. have too many cards in the lot to scan . the collection will take around 4 binders maybe 5.

Hey wait a minute, your haul just became more interesting now that the 1980 Nolan Ryan is OPC. Is the bulk of this lot OPC or Topps? Can't tell from the rest of the scans since front side only, but Nolan is a giveaway since it is Astros instead of Angels.

Added these to my 1910 T218 Set...still have a long way to go, but when I can get all these for around $100...I do it.

How Jack Sullivan ever won a fight with that frame, I'll never know. But it's a great-looking card.

    Easy!

I picked up 19 PSA 10 Griffey cards from a fellow board member. The 19 cards moved me up 2 spots in the Basic registry set to #5! I have not gone through them all yet, but here is the first, a pop 9 1994 Ultra (with his bud Buhner).

You are right about that one Dan! I thought it was more doable than the super set at 5,244 cards. 🙂. I am at 163/221, lots of low to no pops left.

And this is one more good reason that I collect Steve Garvey. Basic set is like maybe 30 cards. Much easier!

Griffey May have the largest basic set at 221. I was trying to think who could be larger... Jeter is 176, Frank Thomas 197, Cal 175.. can’t think of any larger..

    Yup, Yaz is 34.

The basic Topps set of Griffey is only 21 cards. That wasn’t too bad. 30 and 34 for the full basic set, I envy you..🙂

I really like that as an idea of a set to complete. As a Bears fan love seeing the Dent.

Great Dent! Tough card. Great Malone! Aggravating centering plagues that card, yours is great.

This upgrades a 6 I had in one of the first player sets I ever completed

When I was a kid one of my best friends dads was an assistant coach for the La Tech Dunkin Dawgs, got to meet him several times as a kid and his college games were the first basketball games I ever attended. Slowly working on his basic Fleer set and finally settled on a 9 of this card I liked

Growing up in Louisiana few things can touch the Legend of the Pistol. Sort of ashamed it took me this long to pick one up

In closing I would like to thank Ronald Acuna Jr. without the profits from the selling of his cards none of this would be possible.

Maddux is just behind him at 217. @GDM67 Leads the way at 199/217(91.71%) while I pull up second with 186/271(85.71%). With the cost of submitting basic cards being what they are, I am ok with not having 10's for each and would much rather have it be complete.

Yup, just picked up a 9 I needed 5 min ago. I try for a 10, but for low pops (less than 5 or so) a 9 is fine.

Congrats on the 186. That is a tough set too!

Thanks Dan. True base to me is Donruss, Fleer, Topps, Score, Bowman and Upper Deck.

SP, Flair, Finest, etc are all premium products off the base. But there are some great designs in those premium products, so I enjoy them too.

Jake, I agree, it's one of my all time favorites. When I bought the SGC 88 my plan was to crack it out for my binder of Dorsett cards, but I just love the way the card looks in the old SGC holder, it might just stay where it's at.

Bought this one with the 10% Ebay Bucks promotion. Think HOF pitcher cards and especially Spahn are underpriced.
