I know this isn’t a coin, but for some reason this came into bloom off-season. I guess Mother Nature had stored this up, just to present it for you, to let you know how special you are!! 😇
I am so very sorry to hear about your father. My family's thoughts and prayers are with him and you, as well as your entire family, during this extremely difficult time. May God bless him on his journey and you all with comfort and peace in the days and weeks to come.
@Paradisefound I'm so sorry to hear about your dad. My dad went the same way 20 years ago. Hopefully you are able to take comfort in the good times that you shared together.
I'm sorry I don't have a 1956 coin to share, but I'd like to share a 1938 D over S Buffalo nickel for you and your dad. I picked this coin as I know you posted your first Buffalo pickup last month.
My thoughts and prayers are with you, your dad and your family.
Sorry to hear about your dad. Thoughts and prayers heading your way. Cancer sucks. If possible spend as much time with your dad as you can and ask him as many questions as you can. No matter how insignificant you think your questions are once he is gone you'll never be able to ask them. You will be glad you did.
I don't have any 1956 pics so this will have to do, it was 100 years old when he was born.....

I am so sorry to hear about your father. You have been such a positive influence on these boards and I hope you can keep those positive spirits even in times like these.
I don't know that I have a coin to post for you, but my father also passed from lung cancer (fifty-years of cigarettes likely did not help) and he passed at only a little older than your father. I hope that your father's journey, as well as the experience of you and your family, is smoother than ours.
My kids love it when I write stories about my father and me. Good times they did not know, but they knew us both. He's gone 30 years now but think of him and the good times we had, every day. You will remember all the wonderful times and events with great fondness as the days roll on.

You can borrow the Princess any time you want. Sorry to hear about your father. Lung cancer is not good. My grandfather passed from Lung cancer at about the same age. My grandmother just passed because of cancer last year. Enjoy the time you guys have left with each other.
He will never leave you. He is locked in your heart and indelibly tied to your soul. My condolences to you and yours. Thanks for yours and others' words of encouragement during my "tough" times, too.
Lost my dad on the winter solstice in '99. Mom left here on my "56 th" birthday in 2011.
Love endures. Love conquers. Love rules.
Here is the only 1956 datted item that I have in my collection that is worth posting. I am very sorry for your loss.
Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?
I think words cannot adequately express everyone's sympathies and concerns for what you are going through. I agree with everyone who says to stay close to your Dad and talk to him as long as you can. I am sure he knows he raised a magnificent daughter and I know that he will live on in your heart forever.
I lost my father (who was also my best friend) to pancreatic cancer earlier this year so I know full well the pain you are feeling right now. I can only say that in time your pain will subside, but your fond memories will not.
I don't have any coins dated 1956, so my prettiest coin dated 1856 will have to suffice. Peace and pleasant thoughts for you...
My current coin collecting interests are: (1) British coins 1838-1970 in XF-AU-UNC, (2) silver type coins in XF-AU with that classic medium gray coloration and exceptional eye appeal.
So sorry for your loss. His passing was way too early. How heartbreaking. I know its hard at this time, but just remember the good times you had with him.
Deepest sympathies and condolences, so sorry to hear this. Stories such as yours, and my grandparents, and many others, are why I've worked, 28 years now, in oncology research and development. Remarkable progress is being made, yet there is still so far to go. Best wishes

I only have an image of one 1956 coin that I own, and it is darkside. This 1956 MS64RD 1 centavo was struck at the San Francisco mint for El Salvador.
