ParadisefoundParadisefound Posts: 8,588 ✭✭✭✭✭

Please post a 1956 coin or anything to honor my Dad ....... surrendering to dreaded lung cancer :'(
He will check in to the other side any day now and I am at peace with that <3

_borrowed pictures from @Batman23 ;) _

I've come to realize this is the best forum for coin collectors and I hope @Coinstartled & @Raybo would return soon too.
We had fun together for a few >:)

PEACE & LOVE

Sorry to hear about that. My father was also born in 1956. I'll have to get back to you with a coin picture since I am at work and don't have them handy.

Sorry to hear :'( , but now it makes me feel REALLY old.
In 1956 I got my first driver's license. Actually had a learner's permit 6 mos. earlier and managed to get a ticket on the same day.

Gosh - I know what you're going through since my parents died awfully. Cherish that you are his legacy and know he is so very proud of what you've become. My best to you through this trying time in your life. <3

Oh, @Paradisefound, so good to have you back! I lost my dad less than 2 weeks ago - also to cancer. He was born in 1948, but it doesn’t really matter - you’re never ready. The two of us were fast friends & we did EVERYTHING together. I’m still trying to wrap my head around it.

Enjoy him as much as you can. I wish for you a lifetime of the best memories. You’re in our thoughts.

Don't have anything to post, but please accept my condolences. 62 is way too young. Lost my Mom in January but she was 98.

So happy to have you back :) , so sad about the news. :'(

This sort of news is always too soon, but your father will obviously be remembered fondly by his family, and we can all thank him for what he is leaving behind. ;) Legacies live on...

My sincere condolences to you and your family. A heart-wrenching time for sure. My folks are long gone but their memories are part of my soul. Don't have any '56 coins but I'll share one of my favorite ladies -- I recall seeing somewhere you like her too!

My sympathies and condolences to you on the loss of your father. Not a fun thing to lose one's parents. 62 years of age is way to young of an age for someone to pass away. I can say this with credibility because 1956 is my birth year and I can not imagine not being around for another 20+ years.

Hi Paradisefound; great to hear from you, and sorry to hear about your loss. St Gaudens for me is something of a patron saint of numismatics.
