    1930 Iceland 10 Krónur X# 3
    Composition: Silver
    Weight: 45.0000g
    Diameter: 45mm
Mintage: 10,000 (though it is possible far fewer were struck)
Struck privately by the Saxon State Mint, Muldenhutten, Germany, at the instigation of an Icelandic Parliamentary committee.
By law, the government of Iceland was permitted to issue a set of medals with embossed values commemorating the 1,000th anniversary of the Icelandic Althing (Parliament) in 1930. The law stipulated that the medals could be given validity as legal tender by a royal decree. That decree was never granted, leaving these enigmatic pieces forever between coin and medal.

That’s one very cool looking piece you have there. I like it a lot

Thanks. I've since had it graded across the street (but held on to that original holder). It's part of the permanent box of 20:

    Gorgeous :):)

I'll have to check my old catalogue and make sure that's one of the ones I bought out of that sale.

A pair of 1871 dated cap and ray 8 reales. Difficult date. These were only made at three mints, Alamos, Chihuahua and Hermosillo. Most mints had converted over to balance scale pesos in the early 1870's. These are both PCGS MS64, with the Ho coin being top pop at PCGS.

Lot 432 of the Stacks sale. Only coin called Gem Uncirculated in the sale so seemingly the finest.

1 of 2 in this grade that was mislabeled. Got to be worth millions, or at the least, tens of dollars.

Bringing this thread back up to the top. Some outstanding World coins have been posted. Here are some Canadian silver dollars I've picked up in the last few months.
