It's round; it sort of looks like silver; and it says "1885-CC" on it. What's the problem?
When I was kid in the 1950s, people were encouraged to enter contests in TV commercials with the official entry form or “a reasonable facsimile.” While this might look like “an unreasonable facsimile” to us, to an eBay bargain hunter who sees a catalog price of $200 or so, it looks like “a deal.”
Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

You better stay away from here that is my grandma's coined.
Wow! That's a new one. Usually it's grandpa's coin. Maybe grandma is in China making more sale items. We need to give them the benefit of the doubt.
No doubt it's from an estate. That's another way to make you feel more kindly to his counterfeit.

But . . . but . . . My grandma used to be a coin collector she passed away and left me the coins in her will.
Need the following OBW rolls to complete my 46-64 Roosevelt roll set: 1947-P & D; 1948-D; 1949-P & S; 1950-D & S; and 1952-S. Any help locating any of these OBW rolls would be gratefully appreciated!

I contacted him too, telling him his grandma left him a counterfeit, and that the "seller does not accept returns" notation will not keep him safe. Unless the buyer is clueless, and ends up asking questions on this blog or others about whether the new coin they bought is real.
Similar to some fakes I came across at a flea market in North Africa. I almost bought them because they were so bad-one was an 1875 Washington quarter!
Wow... and now 42 bids..... Not only F as F.... but a common date as well...I guess they think if they post a fake key CC, then it will get super close scrutiny.... A common date, not so much. How did that work out for ya??? Cheers, RickO
@AUandAG they get bids for the same reason that a girl with two posts here, a camera, and the Internet bumped my BST U.S. Coins post yesterday that I spent 2-1/2 hours working on because she had a 1988 cent (or something) with many "errors, especially on the anverse" and was too lazy to acquire any knowledge or even post in the right place. Oh, let's all go visit her!
i reported this auction and I know a number of other people did too, yet it's going to get sold. e bay must not anybody there that can tell the difference between fake and real
Yes, it's just like the reporting feature, whether as a counterfeit, or anything else just is not being attended to.
I'm surprised somewhat by ebay's lack of actions on this and many others I've reported (and you have reported) in the past few weeks. Seems like the old days when Judy was terminated.

OMG
I get it - YOU want to win this "coin" so you are trying to chase away the competition by making us think there is something wrong with it.
Apparently after all these years eBay is still a place inexperienced collectors can go to get an expensive education.
Always some sucker looking for a bargain.
Reminds me of the comedian who said, "This guy says he's Jesus. If 50% of what he says is true, he must be at least John the Baptist."
Fakes are never a bargain.

I liked the old days on eBay when you could message a bidder to warn them

Obviously a fake coin, but I sure wish I could block the person that gave him/her their one neutral feedback.

Dunno which is worse; the added label or the wrong date.
