nice sets, are sellers able to request other payment options? I thought it was just paypal only nowadays
Now if you can meet locally , could be worth it. Anytime I hear crypto and metals.......red flags come up because of so many scams, etc involving cryptos and metals

No Paypal either per/listing; just cash for pick up or will ship for crypto. Asking price is $6800.
@Paradisefound I think its safe to say that at $6800 you could build your own gold set that looks better and is cheaper

I would have no problem paying cash for that if I could examine it first and the price is reasonable.

The holder looks dirty as if the seller does not really place much care on them. Better stay away.

Would be somewhat "scare" to meet stranger for this kind and expensive deal?
Those are not terms I'd agree to meet.
Any direct cash transaction would have to be in a public place with security cameras such as your local bank or at a police station.

Pass. The terms of sale are unacceptable and you are talking about raw gold. Think of how much slabbing them would cost you, among other things.
Not worth the strange payment requests for basically a commodity

At that price you think they would at least wipe the poo off the lower left corner of the holder, geez. Can't really tell grades from those pictures, but nothing stands out as spectacular. I would think you could build a similar set yourself for somewhere around $5000-$5500 based of the conditions I think I see in those pictures.
As for the terms I don't use these bittcoins but certainly wouldn't attempt to use them via ebay. Pretty sure you wouldn't be covered under their guarantee, getting refunded if there were a problem could be an issue. Cash in person sure if you are in the area but again I think the price is too high. I also don't see any red flag with seller, appears to be just trying to avoid the PP fees. They do accept PP on their other lower priced items.
The whole worlds off its rocker, buy Gold™.

Wooooha! Did someone just say it's officially "TACO™" Tuesday????
...is that blood? This Capitol Plastic holder has been messed with, notice missing screws and the coin rotations, not many are in alignment. RFR

If you have to transact a coin deal at the police station...it is best to pass.
It was probably an inheritance or something. I don't see any obvious, flagrant, "this is a fake" flags ... but I'm not looking at it in-person. And I haven't gone to the ebay listing. IDK if $6800 is serious though lol.
I wouldn't be so close-minded. I would at least look at the set in-hand and discuss cost / payment. But I wouldn't buy them off the 'bay like this.
If the coins mean nothing but $$ to the seller, then that may be the reason why the case is scuffed / dirty. They don't really know what to do with it and want it gone. As I said, I didn't go to their listing. I wonder if they have other coins for sale. Don't really care to check though. I'm done typing / opining....
Insert witicism here. [ xxx ]
I would pass on a deal like that.... risky terms... Judging from the pictures, the coins are not choice, and I believe you could do better buying them in person, individually. Raw gold (and that is raw gold in a capitol holder) is always a risk. Plus, in person cash deals... well, go armed with two large buddies...

Are we clear what the brown smear is on the holder or is that an added surprise?

Is that the best/only picture he provides you? Awfully hard to tell what he's got there. Can't even read the dates on some of them.
Here's a warning parable for coin collectors...
Here you go about the same price

seller reported to ebay...in violation of their payment methods allowed....

Danger,danger Will Robinson!
Ha! I get a kick out of how far people will go out of their way in order to make a bad deal.
I don't think so. If you are saying local pickup only you don't want to take paypal at all. Unless you mean wanting to accept crypto is a violation
Nobody puts crypto in a corner
11.5$ Southern Dollars, The little “Big Easy” set
eBay must have notified the seller of his violation.....auction cancelled. "no longer available."
That's a lot for junk gold, worth 99% of melt at Dillon Gage, maybe a small premium for no problem Unc.s and better dates. I looked at a borderline gem yesterday a dealer had for $1320. Also I would never enter into a contract like that.
I always stay away from a deal that has cat poo on the holder.

What is this place you speak of? I'd be quite interested in a "borderline gem" for $1320, Lib or Saint.
Collector, occasional seller
With "make an offer" that wasn't there previously.
That's a Connecticut dealer; I looked through a lot of his raw gold coins, the 1926 $20 Saint stood out to me which was a shot gem except for a light reverse scratch which would make it 63-64; it had the typical earmarks of a gem; full strike, minimal marks, orange juice luster. Let me know if you are in the northeast, the guy does weekend shows but does not ship.
If anything triggers flags to go off in my head..I pass at that point...with no IF.. ANDS or BUTS !!
