I’m leaving for the show tomorrow morning and haven’t bought or sold a coin yet. Not a good sign for the market, but I’m hoping things will get better once I’ve actually arrived.

When does your super secret buyer show up to make his usual seven figure stack?

Seven figures? These days, I’m thinking Tokyo is my best shot. And the deal will be priced in yen, of course.

Arrived at the hotel at 7:50 and was delighted to see that my room was available, so I went up, ditched everything, made a few calls, had a coffee and headed over to the convention center for lot viewing.
Took me about 3 hours to get through everything - always one of the advantages of being there early - little or no competition for boxes, 2 and 3 lot viewing assistants making sure I had everything I needed. I think I waited a grand total of 3 minutes for box #46. That was it.
Now marking things on my watch list over lunch before going back later for round 2 - a re-look at some pieces.
By then the usual suspects will have arrived at the convention center and we can start comparing notes from the HA auctions and doing some deals before I have to see a guy about an early gold coin this afternoon.

Maybe your super secret stealth seller will have better luck in Baltimore while you are in Tokyo.
Headed to Baltimore tomorrow with my tiny want list after going to my 50th high school reunion. Am I really that old?
Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

In my role as a zoo governor, I am leaving tomorrow for Baltimore to study the declining crab population, or at least contribute to it.
Please don't leave out anything. We want to know everything.

Woke up.
Printed boarding pass.
Wrote down table numbers of various dealers.
Fished out magnifying glass attached to FUN show lanyard.
Debated whether to use light rail or taxi from the airport.
Yup, we're off to an exciting start here!
Woke up, fell out of bed
Dragged a comb across my head
Found my way downstairs and drank a cup
And looking up, I noticed I was late
Found my coat and grabbed my hat
Made the bus in seconds flat
Found my way upstairs and had a smoke
And somebody spoke and I went into a dream
