2007 Auction. Still remember this one. Another $750 dollars would have gotten me this 37-d 3 legged buffalo. I was the high internet bidder on this coin going into the floor auction. I learned to save my bid until the auction after that. Have you had one that has gotten away from you?

in the last five seconds. Never lost a coin I wanted....Cheers, RickO
1935 $1 NGC MS66+
There have been quite a few coins since that have escaped my grasp.
Not really looking for much these days but if I were, it might be a toner.
Too depressing
Lance.
Too depressing
Agreed! When I lose out on a coin I try to put it far away from me and try not to linger on it.
However there was this one that haunts me to this day...

I don't keep pictures of coins I got out bid on.
Too depressing
I'll go along with that.
Check out my iPhone app SlabReader!
Super nice,under graded 3 legged!!
no kidding, that is a nice one.
the interesting thing is that this was offered in an auction that
I won several medals in, yet I only discovered it doing a search
about 3-4 months later. when I saw it and realized I had missed it I almost fell off my chair.
Thought I would reward myself weeks before my 55th birthday. Bid over retail at the time on Great Collections. Wasn't meant to be.........
Oh my. That looks terrific. I've been thinking about upgrading my 63BN and I would have jumped on that one. A shame you lost out.
Lance.
I remember an 1898 gem $10 Lib that "got away" from me at a Stack's auction in the later 1980's. I recall that date being quite elusive in gem at that time. I bid around $2800 for it and it went 1 increment higher. I kicked myself for years over that coin....until it showed up again for sale at auction in the early 2000's. Stack's mentioned the previous auction appearance. I couldn't believe that the coin was sort of baggy....maybe a MS63. What was I seeing 15 years earlier? Sure glad I didn't buy it back then.
MS66 OGH. Last year.
That toning looks near terminal
Latin American Collection
I wish I'd have seen it sooner, it would be locked up tight in my collection.
