It is a neat die crack and is more pronounced than in the photos. It is actually a crack from 9 o'clock to the center to 4 and 6 o'clock

Do you think this coin was net graded for any reason? The full slab images suggest a light dip? Can't see it under 50 either way though.

I would have guessed 50 from the current moveable grading "standard." Perhaps a strict 45 is appropriate. I also have an 1803/2 PCGS40 from DW that has as much luster or more, a great 40-45 will sell at AU50 level. There are very few of these in VF/XF grades. It has become my favorite coin design.

I will post - but it will take a while as it is in the bank and I am working 60 hour weeks.
Mine is net graded, I believe, by PCGS, as it has a hit by the date which is OK for a non-perfectionist. Since it was sold by DW, it is a toned original with great eye appeal.
