Quite a new purchase! The devices are hammered and the skin looks very nice. I see little apparent wear but not much luster either. I am probably low with this guess: AU53.
That's a really nice peice with original surfaces, which Boosibri's usual MO. I'd grade the piece AU-58.

If you bought that piece for anything close to EF-40 money you stold it.

Beautiful coin, the details are obviously better than XF40. I'd like to tilt those obverse fields in the light and take a gl***** to them before offering an opinion as to how far undergraded she is.
Neat die crack through star 13. Great pick up *****uming you paid anywhere near 40 price guide.
It's a beauty. Looking at pictures is as close as I'll ever get. It must give you a great sense of pride and satisfaction to actually own a coin like that. Congratulations.
I would have guessed 50 from the current moveable grading "standard." Perhaps a strict 45 is appropriate. I also have an 1803/2 PCGS40 from DW that has as much luster or more, a great 40-45 will sell at AU50 level. There are very few of these in VF/XF grades. It has become my favorite coin design.

I will post - but it will take a while as it is in the bank and I am working 60 hour weeks.
Mine is net graded, I believe, by PCGS, as it has a hit by the date which is OK for a non-perfectionist. Since it was sold by DW, it is a toned original with great eye appeal.

Is Gorgeous.
WTG! There's an awesome and beautiful early gold newp for you, and a type I've always dreamed of owning.
Alas, on my budget such a coin is destined to remain but a dream and never a reality.
Wish I could admire it in person, though. I'd pay a dollar admission fee just for the privilege.

Stunning...wow...where did you pick that puppy up?
Welcome back, John.
The coin would be a great addition to the RYK non-collection.
It is a neat die crack and is more pronounced than in the photos. It is actually a crack from 9 o'clock to the center to 4 and 6 o'clock

Do you think this coin was net graded for any reason? The full slab images suggest a light dip? Can't see it under 50 either way though.

Appears ridiculously under graded
Any more like that available?

You should post that 1803/2.
