What a wonderful snapshot of a thin slice of America!!!!

Had to comment on this one:

    << <i>What a dug up old thread.

    In order:

    1. Musician in multiple bands while in high school and shortly thereafter
    2. Made, and I do mean MADE bowling balls for Columbia 300
    3. US Navy for 6 years... then retired... ok, I quit! Machinist Mate, USS Enterprise, 1 plant
    4. Senior Reactor Operator at a Nuclear plant in Texas >>

I was SRO in the 80s - I left the utility game in the early 90s and have been consulting since. I've done work for both Comanche and STP. May have met you.

It is kinda wacky that we have me, a former SRO, a current SRO, and another retired commercial nuclear power individual on this one forum!

    Gotta love statistics.

I work as an electrician in the Chicago area. On most days I actually enjoy my job. I don't know how some of you do those office type jobs. Just sitting behind a desk all day staring blankly at a computer screen. I'd blow my brains out.

I am an MBA Financial Manager. I am currently a site financial manager for a company in the Oil & Gas Industry. I set up at shows (since 1990) as schedule permits and have a website (ebay store). My goal is to be involved in setting up at shows full time upon retirement. My accounting skills give me a synergy for my coin business in inventory analysis, pricing, spreadsheet analysis, and business management. As a strategist I have a diversified inventory of coins and currency and monitor daily market activity via a one page dashboard I have developed. A typical show setup might consist of one case of my best certified coins (inexpensive coins can be stacked 6 high), then three others mostly US and World Currency with some USM products or perhaps an attractive display of world gold.

Technology allows me to monitor my site full time. My I phone allows me to bid on auctions and manage ebay store activity.

Have a degree in civil/structural engineering. Was an AutoCad draftsman through school, designed highways & water systems for a while after that. Got hair-brained idea to go to med school & I've been an orthopedic surgeon since. Apart from government meddling, it's the best job in the world. Joint replacements & fixing broken bones are my favorites.

I'm a senior electro/mechanical designer starting a new job next Monday. Literally designing bombs. Well, the company designs and manufactures ammunition, ordnance, fuze systems and the automation equipment and tooling required to manufacture these products.
