  • I read it and probably replied too...but I saw the names of many great folks, some here, some not here, some gone already. But I even miss the ones that drove me crazy. Spud, C.K., ER (many times he helped me with a medical issue!), TDN, MorganNut, Saint Dennis, Saint Guru...that's not inclusive or in any order...and smoe whose names I forget but icons I recall...Ahhh. Time :-)

I wonder how many people since this thread started some 10 year ago found out that the industry/profession they chose was not very recession proof?

I would not want to have the word manager/supervisor in my title as there are few million of them looking for jobs right now.

BTW, I work for Nikon in the semi-conductor industry as an FSE.

Did you ever meet Admiral Rickover? >>

Question wasn't directed to me but I met him while I was a civilian nuc inspector at Charleston Naval Shipyard. He angrily came aboard ship (with my boss and my boss's boss) to ask me why I had put a hold on reactor plant testing on one of the navy's newly converted MTS submarines. When I gave him my answer and explained that quality control had no deadlines he shook my hand and said "keep up the good work."

Back when this thread started I used to say structural engineer/ automotive artist. Now I like to say automotive artist/ structural engineer. Art sales have fortunately been going well. I just lasted my latest on my site for $100K. Probably a little high but I am not ready to sell it yet.
