Yup - This is about as clash-marked as they come. I've only seen one other LDS with additional clash marks that this one doesn't exhibit. I believe they were from the eagle's wing (right-obverse field) and some more clashing from the scroll.

BTW, it's in a 35 holder, but that grade assigned is a bit conservative, IMHO.

stealer- The 1836 proof half that CRO handled recently was a reeded edge coin. Here is another half dollar favorite. My favorite Barber design.

Wow. Some spectacular halves here. George, Goldbully, Tom. Stunning!

Here are a couple of mine I like. Maybe not as special as the rest.

Oddly enough, none of the half dollars in my collection rank among my favorite coins in my collection. I guess I'll have to use the term "special" for these pieces.

The 1796 half dollar was last piece I need to complete my non-gold coin type set.

And the Antietam commemorative half dollar has long been among my favorite "early" commemorative half dollars.

In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

I believe that was the packaging that the coin came in.
It was an eBay purchase I made a long tome ago and I am not too sure of the details.

Tough to choose. I have several common, mid-grade SLH that are nearly mark-free and nicely toned, but I'll choose the 1851 because it's also a scarce coin.

OK, I couldn't resist posting my new avatar coin, a nice "circulated cameo".

    Edited for stupid writing.
