i have a list i started of banned members. i decided to have the cut-off at 5 years as many on the list were from much further back than that. i ALMOST started a list of inactive, great contributors threads/posts but at the end of the day, the list thing isn't a compulsion, just effective, so i opted not to. plus i can' seem to squeeze 40 hours out of a 24 hour day. so close though as i just came across a big handfull of members that would have been on the list, just come across them during normal forum activities.
forgot to say, i didn't upload the list as it can be a sensitive topic and since we don't have a ban energy meter to know how close to the edge we are...
maybe i'm paranoid but i get a sense that i could be close from time to time, so best to err on the side of caution. wouldn't want to make too many members here happy by getting myself decapitated.

I agree with @zoins. I miss keets. I also wish he'd be allowed to come back. Now, for @BuffaloIronTail, keets got into a "discussion" over on the sports forum. Apparently the posters there are a lot more hostile than the posters here. Anyway, keets was bammed for stuff that happened there.
While he was here, I purchased the nickel below from keets. It's in my registry collection of 36 to 42 proofs as "ex-keets":

There’s no upside potential and lots of downside risk.

A bunch of guys one of whom was willing to pay almost half a million for half a piece of cardboard - more hostile? Hard to believe.

i would have only done it as i do like compiling things for convenience/efficiency and i'm sure there are several active members that would like an update to some members mia, whether banned or inactive, perhaps contact them and get them active again.
i'd give the current list to someone else with a little less red in their column to post but would take no responsibility if people couldn't keep themselves composed. (which seems like a low likelyhood based on banned members and locked threads being any indication)
last i'll say about it here though.
to be on-topic, RR was one of the people on the "where are they now list" when i came across one/some of his old posts.
i'd like to have more time to find some of those old threads that read like numismatic pulitizer prize candidates. it kinda starts with finding banned/inactive members and looking through their posts, non-combative, numismatically astonishing.
I used to communicate with him regularly and the wife and I visited him and his wife (forgot her name) when we visited that neck of the woods. Stand up guy.

I wish both would return. Even when we disagreed (not all that often), I always valued their insights and opinions and thought both were valuable contributors.
I went back and read a few threads I was involved with a few years ago. There were many, many, many valuable contributors in those days who are no longer here. The guys mentioned above are two of them. Many have been banned, some have passed away, and some just faded away. Sometimes interest just wanes a bit. I'm in that place right now, devoting more energy to a different hobby and trying to straighten out some finances to set up my future a little better.

The overall flavor and texture of this place changes when established and long term members fade (or flame) out for whatever.
I learned, absorbed and followed the sages messages here. Extreme knowledge out the door.
And it's too bad - some just could not play right. Others, I'm sure, got goaded till they couldn't take anymore.
And for what? Certainly not for the overall knowledge that flew out with them.
It's one thing to pass on.
Quite another thing to "just fade away".

Especially with only 17 "official" visits.
I figured keets was just depressed over the death of his icon.
I've chatted with him on email since.
He still reads the forums and told me I needed to post more So-Called Dollar threads
I hope there's an amnesty period like there was before for some posters.

WOW. Keets got poofed?
I didn't know.
Why?

And does poof stand for 'pushed off of forum'? 🤔

I have pages printed out of Roadrunner talking about Seated Quarters. Of course he fished a bigger pond than I ever could, but I learned a lot.
