I sold mine thinking this would happen. Can’t see paying such a premium just to complete the set. I probably won’t be collecting bullion series anymore.
I believe they did a spectacular job on the design and execution as I have seen many dog coins and most of them are really boring representations, including the Lunar series.
Bravo and bon voyage to a fun series.
And, show me one poorly designed coin in this series. Don’t exist!
Good question and you are right, either way, you profited (if you sold, and boy these are hard to part with!).
And on a somber note, 19 years to this date I started buying bullion.

I wonder if the rise in prices is more proportional to a rise in the price of gold, or to a rise in the premiums?
Does anyone know? Either way, that this series appears to have provided a monetary benefit.
Back issues have gone through the roof for the 2 oz silvers with many over $150 now. Previous gold aren’t too bad but I’ve seen $750 for some. The latest run up of gold and silver seems to have depleted most stocks.

All of mine, except for the latest one, has been in the $35-$45 price range for the silver. But keep in mind, silver spot for the last 4 years has been averaging around $15 per oz.
"Bongo drive 1984 Lincoln that looks like old coin dug from ground."
Got my shipping notice from Apmex. Kinda bummed that I purchased the first day available as PM prices have gone way down. Such are the risks in bullion.
That's a hefty premium! I'm partial to the two ounce silver rounds from the Intaglio mint:

Hey all, Have any of you been following the 2 ounce silver versions of these Beasts on eBay?
I see the silver 2 ounce dragons are running around 170 to 180 per coin! Wow, quite the ascension in asking price.
Same thing at APMEX (if they have them in stock)
Comments
Going to be a "beast" pricewise this time around.
The final one will be : "The White Greyhound of Richmond"
Should be available shortly...
They never did issue the 1 oz gold versions of the Griffin. Anyone know if they ever plan to?
Here's a warning parable for coin collectors...
I suspect they will.....Suggest you contact the royal mint & inquire.

I have made inquiries about the series in the past, including about this point. They've been unresponsive. Very frustrating.

These appear to be in high demand now and not readily available. And if they are, many of them have a high premium including the Gold Dragon.
Apparently it was issued & APMEX has it:

And good golly Mr. Molly look at that premium on the Griffin. Avert your eyes for a few of the others.
A Whole bunch of “alert me”
Well done, OPA.
Now for your next challenge: how about the 1 oz Gold Proof version!

Bullion exchanges appears to be the less expensive right now. Direct, no eBay.
Luckily this is the last coin in the series

Not sure if they came out with one...> @MilesWaits said:

Maybe a bit cheaper but close enough as I ordered from Bullion exchangers and if I ever had to pay sales tax, I’d stop buying.

News at last from the Royal Mint about the 1 oz gold Griffin proof:
"Dear Mr Poole
Thank you for your reply.
Yes, the Griffin will be released in Proof standard early 2021. That will indeed be the final Proof issue within the collection.
I hope this information is helpful. If there’s anything else please let me know.
With kind regards
Katherine

The issues that I collect are now up for pre-sale at Apmex. Heads up!

Is anyone interested in 10 of the capsules for these coins? I listed in the BST forum as well, but figure this would get some additional looks...
