Still waiting for the 1 oz Griffin gold proof.
I can't make heads nor tails of the Royal Mint's sequence and schedule for these issues.
Welcome to the club. They seem to have changed from the original schedule:
Here are the released and upcoming design concepts which will form the entire series:
• 1st– The Lion of England – February 2016
• 2nd-The Griffin of Edward III – October 2016
• 3rd– The Red Dragon of Wales – March 2017
• 4th– The White Greyhound of Richmond – September 2017
• 5th -The Black Bull of Clarence – March 2018
• 6th- The Falcon of the Plantagenet’s – September 2018
• 7th- The Yale of Beaufort – March 2019
• 8th– The White Lion of Mortimer – September 2019
• 9th– The White Horse of Hanover – March 2020
• 10th-The Unicorn of Scotland – September 2020
Love that design! Nice strong bull.
I seem to recall that provident was selling these at about a buck over spot for a short period of time with the lion.
I think I will wait it out for a possible reduced price on a roll.
I just checked with the Royal Mint and it appears that all 3 previous silver proof 1 oz (Lion, Unicorn & Dragon) are sold out. Only available in the secondary markets
"Bongo drive 1984 Lincoln that looks like old coin dug from ground."
According to the schedule I have, the 2 oz silver bullion Falcon should be out sometime next month. They do seem to like changing their release schedule.
March & September are the month when new issues come out. APMEX has the proofs on a pre sale. I suspect the bullion versions will also be available within the next 2 weeks.

At least have the bullion for presale too. But hey, I'll take it when I can get it. My griffen is the only one that has a milkspot. The others are fine though
For some reason, the Griffin is the only one of the series not to include the 1 oz gold proof. Any info about why this is so?
Their approach to marketing is somewhat psychotic. My guess is that a proof Griffin will be released, but your guess as to the timing is as good as mine.
I bought the Unicorn, and I keep toying with the idea of a full set of gold proofs, but it's hard to pin down what their mintages are going to be. When I bought that coin, Apmex was indicating a mintage of 400, but that turns out to be incorrect.
At this moment, my best information is that all of them are 500 or less, except for the Lion which is 1,000. Their distributors don't give out good information in the writeups, (possibly on purpose).
I do like the Bull, still on the fence about buying it.
I've been buying each of the regular 10 oz (silver) coins - the prices are pretty good on them and they are nice quality as well.

I actually emailed Customer Service at the Royal Mint:
**: In the Queen's Beasts series, the Mint has issued 1 oz gold proof versions except for the 2017 Griffin. I have been buying and collecting the series of the 1 oz gold proofs for each issue. Does the Mint ever plan to produce a 1 oz gold proof version of the Griffin? So far as I've been able to discover, there exists only the Bullion 1 oz gold coin, and the 1/4 oz proof for the Griffin. And just out of curiosity, why wasn't the 1 oz proof produced for the Griffin, since it has been for all the others? Thanks.**
They answered:
**Please register your interest on the following link and we will send you details on the Queen’s Beasts Griffin Proof coins when available.
**I’m not needing generic notifications about releases in the Queen’s Beasts series.
Is it possible to answer my specific questions here?
Thanks.
**
And finally:
**The Queen’s Beasts Griffin Proof Coin has not yet been released as part of our commemorative range, only as part of our Bullion range.
We wouldn’t reveal any information ahead of a product release date so we can but advise to keep an eye on the website and our social media pages for updates on new releases.

The Royal Mint's penchant for secrecy surpasses our own Mint.
I guess I'll have to hire James Bond to get a straight answer.
the problem with these things is that there is a financial incentive to keep going. Are we going to see a John Lackland edition then later robin hoods 3rd cousin (they were roommates briefly before that whole sherwood forest thing)
Like the hideous pucks , 2019 portapotty somewhere near half dome in proof and bullion
bronco...the Queens beast encompasses the 10 beasts of England over a 5 year period..no more or less.
*The Lion of England, The White Greyhound of Richmond, The Yale of Beaufort, *The Red Dragon of Wales, The White Horse of Hanover, The White Lion of Mortimer, *The Unicorn of Scotland, *The Griffin of Edward III, *The Black Bull of Clarence, *The Falcon of the Plantagenets

My 2 oz Unicorns arrived today...very pleased.
Just received the 10 oz Griffin from JM. Only flaw that I noticed: the capsule is just a bid to large, the coin does not fit snugly.
Actual diameter of the 10 oz'er???
Weight 311.03 g
Fineness 999.9
Dimensions 89.15 mm
Alloy 999.9 fine silver
Face Value £10
Packaging Single Coin Capsule
Just placed an order for the 10oz Griffin and am looking forward to receiving it, I loved the 10oz Lion before it.
Still waiting for the 1 oz Griffin gold proof.

The Royal Mint still is erratic about the sub-sequence of fractionals, proofs, metal composition, etc.

Thank you for the links, OPA! I still haven't figured that part out. I will be happy with the bullion version. Especially at that price.
Picked up a Bull. Halfway thru the series. Very nice.
Got my silver 1 oz proof in the mail today from APMEX...Fierce looking Bull & great looking coin.
For those of us...still collecting the Queens Beasts.
The latest one is: The Falcon of the Plantagenets
I seen this but no bullion grade coin?
It's a gorgeous series.
I've got my order for the proof in to APMEX.

Yeah, the 2 oz griffen comes with a hefty premium now, tho if you shop @ you can locate it for a fair deal.
The correct answer is no until they get the new queen on them.

Be careful what you wish for....isn't Camilla in line now?
On second thought, it will be Charles next now.
