I mentioned a plantagenet , John Lackland . Without John would we have the US constitution?
MmmmmmHmmmm
I don't see a connection. He died in 1216. Need a history lesson.
Well he signed the Magna carta some might say he was forced to but it still counts. The constitution wasn't really based on the magna carta but it kind of got the ball rolling as far as creating legislative bodies in addition to a king that actually had power and could oppose the kings wishes
Thanks bronco. English history was never one of my strong points.

I do collect some of the metals for this series. I do tend to wait until the initial hysteria has fallen down on the pre-sales as I tend to find they are cheaper after that.

The 2 oz bullion is not a pre sale item & can be had at bullionexchange.com. I have never been able to p/up the 2 oz bullion version at a cheaper price after the initial issue date.
I somehow wound up with 3 of these recently in a metal swap. They are ok , not a big fan of the shiny finish but I like the thickness of them
Which ones do you have? I've been buying the 1/4 oz gold, the 10 oz silver, and the plats. I also bought the 1 oz proof gold Unicorn. Still debating the high premiums on the gold 1 oz proofs.

I've been tempted to stack some of them, the premiums are fairly competitive for the bullion issues.
the guy paid 46 each actually it was not a metal swap exactly , it was swap adjacent . We swapped my circulated peace dollars 60 of them for his 4 roosters . He wanted to to swap the griffins somehow but I actually paid him 46$ face each in forever stamps for them. I have a ton of those . I don't value them at face personally but they go up in value every year so it worked out for him
Good question. Someone with research skills could certainly find that out and save me the energy other than supposition. I would imagine for those well-versed in the platinum series, yes. Now with the Palladium, that is a whole different game.
Yes, most of the Platinum Eagles have been inching down over the years, but in many cases the sellers are clinging onto the built-in higher premiums from 10 years ago.
I'm slowly liquidating odds & ends (while still buying as well) and have extra Plats that I now consider as straight bullion and don't even bother trying to sell. I've cracked out MS-69 and PR-69 FS coins and store them in 2x2s just for more compact storage.
I'm really not worried about the price of platinum. I still add it to the stack in the form of Maples, Queens Beasts and of course, registry pieces. It's cheap right now.

For those that are interested, I got an email from APMEX about a contest to win a GOLD 2020 White Lion of Mortimer just for purchase of one of the eligible 2019 or 2020 Queen's Beast coins.
Have one each of the first eight. White Horse of Hanover is the penultimate release in 2 oz silver.
The White Horse of Hanover was introduced into the Royal Arms in 1714 when the crown of Great Britain passed to the Elector George of Hanover. This grandson of Elizabeth Stuart, sister of Charles I, became George I, King of Britain, France and Ireland. The shield shows the leopards of England and the lion of Scotland in the first quarter, the fleur-de-lis of France in the second and the Irish harp in the third quarter. The fourth quarter shows the Arms of Hanover.[2]
Here are the released and upcoming design concepts which will form the entire series:
1st– The Lion of England – February 2016
2nd-The Griffin of Edward III – October 2016
3rd– The Red Dragon of Wales – March 2017
4th– The Unicorn of Scotland – September 2017

Forever stamps as money. I dare the post office to issue them in $100 or higher denominations. I dare them
Well, that's kinda dumb, how would they specify $100 worth of government goods & services in perpetuity? Hmmm. Maybe I'd just buy precious metals
Never mind.
I knew it would happen.
forever stamps went up 10%
I have some package stamps denominated $22.95 a block of 4 doesn't take much space
Are the early plats lower with the spot price?

The 2 oz bullion "Yale" that I ordered on 2/22 are scheduled for delivery today.
Yale?
Received mine...(I always store them in capsules)
Got my Queen's Beasts "The Yale of Beaufort" proof today. I love the looks of this series in gold!
Here's a warning parable for coin collectors...
Nice 2 ozer! Nice gold proof! The Royal Mint does do a very nice job on their coins - both proof and regular bullion.
That gold proof almost rivals a proof gold Buffalo. Almost.
I knew it would happen.
the gold is better looking than the silver
It should be...it cost a heck of a lot more. ( I paid $36 per silver coin)
I almost agree. The Buff proof is hard to beat.
Here's a warning parable for coin collectors...
I think the silver is too shiny , I like the designs but the shiny areas remind me of those hideous pucks
For those of us that are collecting the Queens Beasts....here is the latest release from the Royal Mint. (should be available in a week or two)
White Lion of Mortimer.
That lion has definitely been working out at the gym!
I'm there for the gold proof. Love this series.

I've noticed that the 10 oz silver pieces get sold out every time. Especially now, I suppose.

Does anyone know when the next Queens Beasts are supposed to be released? It's been awhile.
Oops, I just scrolled up. September it is! I'll be glad to get this series in the bag.
