    Pics above^^^^^^

Well, after we posted our haul we received two more packages on Christmas Eve from CU members. We had mentioned on our SS list we are working on a few modern autograph sets. Well, two different members both sent us cards. They arrived on Christmas Eve. I do know one was Yankeeman because we share the same name. The other I haven't figured out yet but plan on so I can thank properly.

First, we opened the package from Yankeeman. He sent us the Rod Woodson for our Illustrious Legends autograph set. That card fit perfect in our set as you can see in the picture. What a gift! He also sent packs of Panini Prizm basketball for the boys to bust. They had so much fun. In addition, he also got us a Ted Hendricks autograph for our 2013 Spectra 50th Anniversary autograph set. These cards are tough to find. These are my favorite cards and I have been selling PC items to buy as many as I can get my hands on. So this was such a great surprise. I will post the pictures below. Most importantly I want to thank you. He went out of his way to buy some amazing cards. This evening I will share the second package we received from another CU member. Again, Yankeesman I will pay it forward and can't thank you enough

I am a Reds fan and watched Schwarber beat us by himself one night. If they can get his glove right he is going to be a legend down the road. The Feller looks pack fresh. What an awesome trio of cards.

Way to go board members! Great gifts so far! Let's continue to see them!

First of all, HUGE thanks to Manny for coordinating this and staying on top of packages travelling across the country by many different people at the busiest shipping time of the year. Such an amazing time commitment and labor of love to a bunch of card junkies.

I also want to say a big THANK YOU to my Secret Santa. Here's the haul I opened:

    image

    image

Some will be ripped and some saved - racks have catchers on top which is what I have honed down my collection to going after to a large extent - awesome gesture!!!

And the blow me away over the top item:

    image

My favorite Munson card by far and I have never owned the O Pee Chee version. I am super psyched to have this card from a ridiculously condition sensitive set in this grade. So awesome!!!! Thanks Santa!!!!!

And now on to my Bonus Secret Santa. Totally blown away by this gesture. I know he didn't know it but 1979 was the first set I bought packs of when I was a kid and has always been my favorite set as a result. This brought me back to my childhood:

And Johnny Bench on top makes another appearance today!!!!

My Hall of Fame catcher collection appreciates this very much and so do I!

Thanks again all and Merry Christmas!!!!!

Hey, so would like to to thank my Santa, the gifts hit the spot and we had a great time opening. I had mentioned i was opening recent football and was a Jets fan (more on that later...), and these all hit the spot.

First, the welcoming party approves all of the gifts!

Included was a 2010 Topps Chrome football box to be opened once home from my inlaws, a 2014 HIT football box which I opened and got a couple of OBJ rookies and an auto card of the Saints young good WR Brandin Cooks,

and a couple of fantastic autos of Jets classics! These were great because I actually don't have many Jets autos at all, and Joe Willie is obvious one and Curtis Martin is still the best jets running back in their history imo. I've been a season ticket holder with my father since I was 14, saw so many just super solid Curtis games as a teenager into my 20s.

There was also a bonus SCD mag from the mid 70s which is going to provide fun, and agonizing reading!

Merry Christmas CU Boards! Hope that you all truly enjoyed the very best of times with family and friends. Also just wanted to give a huge thanks to the men and women serving our country in the Armed Forces. My brother in law is in Kuwait right now and I made sure he had plenty of ripping material to pass the time away from his family.

Before I get going on my Secret Santas, I want to thank Manny for the huge effort in coordinating this entire event. It is my first year on the Boards and this has been a tremendous experience. My SS was way above and beyond generous and I'm only now just finding a few minutes away from the dozen family members at my house (plus my two young children and pregnant wife) to dig into the package. My SS hit home on every gift, BIG TIME! Will get proper pics and commentary up shortly.

My love of 1980s unopened Baseball is without bounds. And my SS CRUSHED it! I'm also a Dave Winfield fanatic and that 1984 season was my favorite of my childhood. Killed me that Donnie took the batting title at .343 vs .340. On top of that, 1985 Donruss and Topps were my favorite packs to rip when I started collecting big in 1986. Now 1983 & 1982 have grown big time on me.

The racks are just AWESOME! And the 1985 wax box in a 1982 wax box is crazy stellar! With the $.35 tab on it keeps it safe from my grubby ripping hands! A variation that I've never seen! SS, you rule!

MY SS did an awesome job! First off are some additions to my Greg Maddux registry sets. I have been wanting/needing the Colorado Rockies Inaugural for quite some time as I already have the All-Star versions that I picked up from a fellow board member. The 1999 Super Chrome blew me away as it is a beast of a card! It is a pop 1 with only 2 graded, music to my ears!

    image

The coup 'de grace is the 2005 Donruss Greats Hall of Fame Souvenirs Hank Aaron auto. I have been acquiring all things Aaron with a special emphasis on autograph cards. This is a beautiful example of a relic auto card with a game used bat and nice clean signature. Thank you Secret Santa!

Well, the time has come to post my secret Santa lot! I was totally floored by what I got. My Santa went above and beyond! Not only did he take the time to check my list twice, but also filled my stocking and wrapped everything nice! The packs will be ripped and posted on YouTube with care. But here are some pics for all of you to stare! The Yankees will be locked in my safe today. Maybe enjoyed by my kids someday. The wax will be stacked on top of each other. These cards will not be thrown away, like my old ones were by my mother.

    Thank you ss!

I finally had a chance to scan and post a quick write up. First thanks again to Manny for putting together the Secret Santa program this year. This was my first time participating and hopefully not my last. I had as much fun finding cards for my recipient as I did receiving mine. By the looks of the great gifts posted it looks like I am not alone.

Anyway, here are the great gifts bestowed upon me by my SS. I had put in my write up that one of the things I collect is unopened, with a focus on rack packs with star/HOF RC's from the 1980's showing. I also mentioned that growing up in the Bay Area in the 80's my favorite players were Joe Montana and Jerry Rice. I actually have a thread sharing some of the packs I already have and my SS must have done some research because he was able to fill gaps in my collection perfectly.

First up, a beautiful 1987 Topps rack with a second year Jerry Rice card showing on top

    image

Next, a perfect 1981 Topps wax pack from Joe Montana's RC year. I will make sure there are no stars showing before ripping. Sorry I just realized that I put the pack upside down relative to the card I wanted to show from the 1986 grocery rack. Two star RCs are showing from the grocery rack, Browns legend Bernie Kosar and Bills HOFer Bruce Smith.

    image

If these first three packs weren't enough, my SS saved the best for last, with the ultimate pack for a 49ers fan. A 1981 Rack pack with Joe Montana on top sealed by BBCE. It doesn't get any better than this. Thanks Santa!

morning gents. Opened my stuff yesterday but had zero time to post pics. So here you go.

1st I was in both groups since we were 1 person short on the -$100 category. I was listed as "that guy". Since I was running it I had to tell my SSs who I was. Neither of them disappointed in any way. In fact this is by FAR the best SS I have ever had. Thanks to both of my SS--you both went above and beyond--thank you.

1st up my big SS....I sent him several of my registry sets--thinking he would pick 1 and send a few cards. Well he picked 3 registry sets and sent me incredible cards. He suggested I open them in a particular order--and of course if Santa tells you--you do it. So 1st up were 4 cards for my '67 BB set--just about 97% complete--

    image

then he surprised me with 2 Celtics HOFers for my NBA Top 50 Rookies set--

    image

the 3rd package was for my Tom Brady Master Set--I am trying for all PSA-10 cards-- 7 PSA-10--Including 2 from his rookie year ! NICE!!!

    image

    image

the 4th one was also special--as many of you know I am a die hard Sox fan and Yaz has always been my boyhood idol. I own the #1 Yaz Master set--

    image

    And last was this gem---

    image

WOW and a big Thank You Santa

    As for my other SS---

I won't name him--but I exchanged with a Jets fan from the east coast. To make matters bad for him I sent him ONLY my Tom Brady Master set list of cards. Knew that would be a B buster for him. Hey gotta have fun right?

Well he sucked it up and sent me 7 PSA-10 Brady cards! Outstanding!!

    image

then there was a separately wrapped package. It was flat--and I assumed it was a non-graded card of Brady. What I got was even better---he let me know that he did his SS duties with a heavy heart and his true Jets' feelings came thru in a big way

Hello from Disney World! Well, that drive took about three hours longer than it should have due to the traffic in Chattanooga and Atlanta. I want to thank Manny for doing this. It is a colossal chore and has to be done by someone willing to put the time in. It is my favorite thread of the year. So for that I truly appreciate it.

We had received four total packages- One from our SS and three from bonus SS's. We have three sets we are working on and selling PC items to try and blaze through. It has been a blast checking eBay several times a day to work on them. The sets are two football modern autograph sets and one basketball. This secret Santa went out of his way to look at our list then ordering TWO cards in the set and sending them to us.

These bonus secret Santa gifts they sent to us for our sets are cards each time we look at the sets I will remember kindness and generosity. Whoever you are thank you and I will pay it forward. Pictures posted below.

I can't believe I forgot to mention this but another neat part of my SS is a complete (not torn) December 18, 1959 ticket for the the UKIT (UK Invitational Tournament, a four team mini tournament we used to host right before Christmas until 1988 or 1989 or so). Had a blast ripping all the racks that SS gave me. I refrained from the 79FB Tray and 87F red wrappers.

I got a nice little batch of RCs. The McGwire is real nice. Clemens is OC with the PD. But still such a fun pull.

A few players made multiple appearances. But the 3 83 Dawson's from a single grocery rack was crazy. 2 came in a single pack. I like the Cobb and Clemente cards. And who can forget the Chicken.

    Another shout to SS. Thanks!

As I mentioned before, The "BONUS" SS sent me Topps Wax Packs from 78 thru 82.

I opened the 80, 81 and 82 with not much luck.

I think I'm going to wait until NYE to open the 78 and 79.

Pics of GREAT PULLS (hopefully) will follow.

Thanks again to a VERY GENEROUS BONUS SS.

Manny ... can you explain to us why Sabrgeek was banned for all future SS?

Back from vacation- and my SS gift was waiting for me today. Nice selection of items for my sets - including a limited print run 2001 Topps employee set Clemente. Thanks ss, and thank you Manny for organizing this year.

i think if you revisit the pictures of what was sent out, it might be a good clue

Oh, I just found those pictures and the future ban is clearer now; I'm now curious what Sabrgeek got from his SS?
