Well I think that it is an appropriate time to close this thread.



All in all it was a tremendous success I would say. Every person -- save one-- held up their end of the spirit of the CU Boards Secret Santa. In fact some of the thoughtfulness and generosity displayed was really heart warming.



That there were 3 anonymous Secret Santas that sent out gifts with no expectation of receiving anything in return is amazing.



Thank you to those of you who participated and I look forward to next year.

BTW--running it was not that bad. It was actually fun to match members up. I urge you all to try it at one point

The Rules---



You should have all received a PM from me with instructions as to who your SS recipient is. If you did not let me know ASAP.



When to Ship? So it gets there by the 15th

When to Open it? No earlier than Christmas Eve--no cheating!!



Rules:



1. You need to come as close to your recipient's wish list as possible. I tried to pair up people based upon collecting interests--but couldn't do it 100%. If you do not have anything in your collection to meet those wishes==please buy something.



2. TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE. Meaning if you have to buy something on eBay you need to factor in shipping to you THEN shipping to your SS recipient.



3. Shipping of the gifts. Ship so it gets there for December 15th. Earlier if you're going across the US. Confirm to me via PM when you have shipped. Please get tracking info and I would *****ume insurance too.



4. Wrap the gift as you would a regular Christmas gift then wrap again for shipping. Add "CU BOARDS" to identify it is from the SS thread.



5. I will har***** you. HAHA--If I do not receive a PM on when you have shipped I will contact you. This only works if you honor your commitment.

    morning Boyz! the 1st SS gift has been sent. Not going to ID who sent it yet so the recipient does not know who his SS is.



    Hopefully you all have an idea of what you're going to do as we have about 2 weeks to get them all shipped. I am awaiting the gifts that I purchased. PM me when yours is shipped or received. I'll start posting on the thread when 10 people have shipped/received

    nice to hear! 2nd SS gift will be shipping soon. I am awaiting some nice stuff for my SSs



    And oh yeah--got an email from the person who is doing the Bonus SS and he said he had chosen the 3 recipients randomly.



    Then got a PM from another board member who is not participating and he said he would also be sending out some bonus SS gifts.

    I have the "big" item for my recipient in hand- just waiting for the second package before i ship out
    Collecting Clemente master (#6) and basic PSA registry sets, Hank Aaron master and basic sets, Mantle oddball issues, 1970's mega decade HOFs, 1967 Topps pin ups, and high grade Topps Clemente and Aaron. Numerous transactions with over 100 board members.

    I'm waiting on a couple more packages before I can ship, but hope to have those within a few days.



    Also, I plan to open mine Christmas Eve night. I'm doing a lot of traveling and hectic family stuff on Christmas, but have some quiet alone time the night before that will be great for opening and scanning.

    I think ideally you're supposed to not open until Christmas Eve...or at the very least keep your beak shut about your present until then.

    Pursuant to the Hague Convention of International Law--widely recognized by the -- well world---- CU SS Christmas gifts sent via mail are subject to Secret Santa Hague Convention Rules. The Hague Convention forbids ANYONE from opening a SS gift anytime before 24 hours prior to Christmas--.
