Tunnel could of been closed be P-51's in the vicinty it was a war you know.

Not sure if the Russians had any P-51's >>

We were allies in that war who knows what all we gave them.

    FYI...

The Soviet Union received at least 10 early-model ex-RAF Mustang Mk I's but found them to "under-perform" compared to contemporary USSR fighters, relegating them to training units. Therefore, it's more likely that a YAK-3 was flown to do the "hypothetical" damage. >>

The US fighter aircraft that the USSR did use in large numbers and to good effect was the P-39, which was well suited to the low altitude combat that was so common on the "Eastern Front". However, they did much prefer their own Yak-3.
    All glory is fleeting.

Send in the robots, detonate the charges, take pics of the gold, publish. What do we got right now? Warnings. LOL

Oh yeah and a ground radar image which shows a claimed gun barrel on a 100 yard long train. Not published.

    Get on with it.

  • I'm speculating it's another fake Russian story meant to cause confusion. They've been throwing alot of these out there in the past few months.

The Nazis had been stealing death camp gold for a long time before 1945, and refining it in a timely manner so that they could sell it through Switzerland. I doubt there was much left in the Spring of 1945.

IF the train exists it could contain anything. No point in speculating about it until it shows up.

Now the major news services got hold of the story and it could be a major event. Should increase tourist income for the Poles. image

Polish University Debunks Nazi Gold Ghost Train

    Tuesday December 15, 2015 13:12

(Kitco News) - After months of speculation, a Nazi ghost train filled with gold, hidden in southwestern Poland, could be nothing more than a wild goose chase, according to researchers from the Krakow University of Science and Technology.

At a press conference in Walbrzych Tuesday, Professor Janusz Madej from Krakow's Academy of Mining said a geological survey of the site had found no evidence of a train. For the past month, Madej’s team has been surveying the site of the supposed ghost train using magnetic and gravitation methods.

“There may be a tunnel. There is no train," he said at the press conference.

Because of the interests from the Russian government the Poles decided to just rebury whatever they found, go back a few years later when all the dust has settled and quietly spirit the contents away.

On 8/20/2015 I posted that I would believe it when I see it.

It seems I may have been right to say such a thing.

I'm relieved they did not actually find a buried train full of Nazi gold. I'd strongly suspect such a train would have been full of personal effects looted from their victims. If so, the only reasonable course of action would have been to give it a proper re-burial at a war memorial site.

Dispersed. The loot got dispersed and probably buried underground where most the loot goes. It got spread out like the wings on an eagle. I cannot see the spoils of war bound for a tunnel underground and closed off, … But, … persistence may pay off, one day. And why spoil a dream ? Dream on !

If they suspect there's a buried tunnel it seems ridiculous to not explore it, train or not.

Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.

Hell, I miss traveling from Chicago, IL, to Omaha, NE overnight on a Pullman sleeper, porter, dinner and breakfast in the '60s.

Wish I could find that kind of service in this day and age.

Much was in flux during the last days of WW II. Albert Speer hid a number of expensive paintings he 'bought' from Jews at fire-sale prices and waited out his 20 year prison sentence in Spandau to retrieve them. I'm sure many others did likewise.

Much money quietly stayed in Swiss bank accounts until pressure from the U.S. government forced the Swiss to return it to its owners - descendants of Holocaust victims - in the late 1990s.

I'm sure there's quite a bit more about this sort of thing that we will never know.

That has been my thoughts on the matter to the tee and possibly why Russia is so interested! How can the Amber Room still be missing after 70 years?
