WANTED: T-206 cards of New York Players. 5/25/17 update - Another addition.

T-206 cards ... I began by buying a few cards from a weekly auction. I saw a couple of low graded T-206 cards of New York players and thought it might be fun to start a new project.

So, my new project is low graded T-206 cards of New York players. I'm not looking to buy the expensive ones ... yet. Right now I'm looking at PSA 1-5 (or SGC equivalent) that present well. My favorites are cards that have a pinhole or some paper loss on the back. I'd also be interested in raw cards that look decent.

I think this and continuing my 1952 Topps Set in autographed form will keep me busy for many years to come.

Thanks for any help in obtaining these cards. As of 5/25/17 I have 69 cards in my T206 Sub Set. I will post pics as they come in.

Here is a list of the ones I still need:

HIGHLANDERS - Chase, white cap; Chesbro; Keeler, both of them; Kleinow, catching;

GIANTS - Mathewson, all three; McGraw, 2 out of the 4 - I have "Finger in Air" and "Glove at Hip"; Tenney.

I'm never going to own the expensive ones, but I'm happy with the ones I can obtain. This project has become a lot of fun.

Were these sold nationwide? I do not remember seeing them as a kid.

I'm not sure where they were distributed.

Here is a quote from an article in SMR: Details on how these cards were originally distributed have been difficult to uncover, but experts seem to agree that they were available in one- and five-cent packs.

From DeansCards.com: The 1964 Topps Stand Ups were sold in both 1 cent and 5 cent packs, but interestingly, Topps used four different wrapper designs for the packs.
