I love it when someone like you, Tom, takes the time to showcase a collection in digital capital plastics display views! Your WQ's look really good in the way you projected them in your digital images!
A Barber Quartet is made up of Nickels, Dimes, Quarters, and Halves.
Two new additions arrived from a recent GC shipment—the 1940, which upgrades an MS66 in that slot. It's whiter and brighter than most of the coins in my set, but has a nice original haze and a little iridescence. The 1942 fills one of my seven (now six) remaining slots. It's a bit fingerprinty, but was priced accordingly and there's a nice pop of rainbow color on the reverse. I'll drop both off at CAC during FUN, although I suspect neither will pass.
Hoping I can find one or two of my remaining coins at FUN!

I got this one about a year ago but never posted it, as I didn't really care for the Heritage photos. FlyingAl took these shots recently. I guess someone sneezed on the reverse at some point?
I am Starting my collection! Just aquired these two pieces. I am starting small and adding as I go. I already also have AU53 1932 P,D,S an AU58 1936-D. Would love to upgrade and obtain better condition quarters as time goes on.

Welcome to the thread and congrats on starting the set. You have the key and a few tougher dates already.
I stated mine over five years ago and am closing in on the last half dozen coins, but there are many others that will upgrade over time. My best advice is to consider this journey a marathon, not a sprint, and to spend at least as much time learning as acquiring coins. You’ll end up with a higher quality set as a result.
A little planning goes a long way, too. For ex., do you want your set to be toners or blast white? What condition coins are you targeting, and is that realistic for your budget? Do you have time set aside weekly to review auctions? How will you sell coins that you decide to upgrade? Etc. No need to answer, just things to consider.
This thread and the wisdom of the regulars here is invaluable. Try to absorb as much of it as you can. Looking forward to seeing the progress on your collection.
What do you guys think of this WQ sale at GC last night? Went for 13x guide ($1744 vs. $135). I just bought a ‘52 MS67 CAC in a regular holder (a few posts up) for $135. Are there multiple WQ rattler collectors that bid this up? It doesn’t scream upgrade to me based on the photos, and it closed at 2-3x what 67+ are selling for. Any opinions?

Nice one @KaleidoscopeQuarters —I can't recall seeing any of those with toning, so that's a cool find.
I wonder if the bicentennials will see increasing interest over the next two years and into the semiquincentennial, similar to how 1921 Peace dollars popped with the 2021 issues.

What I wonder if this pristine Gem-like or better original roll put together at time-of-issue should yield a couple of top examples to consider sending in for grading. Should I look to do that? I haven't looked at this roll piece by piece yet.
This is a Denver version roll.

Yeah, it could be the image but there seems to be surface-pitting. I could agree with Dr. Jason if the pitting is more prevalent than the picture shows. What is really nice, however, is the album toning. Really nice on that front.

Anyone have a quarter that has an iridescent toning that pictures can't pick up? I have one like that and it is my favorite of all time. I love the way it looks "in hand" and the pictures do not pick up the true look at all. I have wondered if a 365 might do it..?
Out of 20 coins 10 graded MS66, 3 graded MS65, 4 graded MS64 and 3 graded MS63. 10 Grading MS66 is pretty good IMO, though I hoped one or two would have graded MS67. The coins look better in hand than they do in the photos.
I just purchased this 1934-D Heavy Motto. Yes.. Its Unc Details due to the scratch but I acquired it for $108 at bid. I think its a win win. In Incredible shape other than the unfortunate scratch.

Beautiful coin, @P0CKETCHANGE and the image by @FlyingAl are fabulous, as well.

Nothing is as expensive as free money.
What are the remaining holes in your set?
A bunch of pesky Denvers
34-D, 36-D, 40-D, 45-D, 46-D, 50-D

Two new arrivals today. Both are upgrades.
MS67 (upgraded a 66)

Somebody must believe it is a 68 candidate, perhaps.

I'd have to think someone believes this is a shot 68 coin.

Agreed. 0 POP at 68. Only 22 at 67+. Looking at the coin, it is a longshot.

This one is on the way back to me. I thought it would get a high grade.
It did get a high grade at MS68. Only 7 in MS69 out there. I think it is superb!

What's the turn around time at pcgs currently? Thinking of sending some Quarters in next week.

I was disappointed in the 1965. Want to guess the grade? Answer tomorrow...
I will guess MS65 on the 1965
MS64 or 64+

Newly acquired PF68CAM quarter.
Picked up this 1940 PR67+ CAC. TrueView way overemphasizes the haze, although I kind of dig it.
