With this year's group, and the dramatic fall off in the position, one has to go RB in the first round, and, more than likely, RB in round 2 as well. QB has never been deeper and anyone reaching for a QB in the first or second rounds is losing a great deal of value.
That being said, every RB outside AP has risks. Foster didn't see a lick of preseason time, has a more than competent backup, and has seen his yards per carry fall off significantly over each of the past three years. Martin runs behind an offensive line that saw big injuries last year which affected his numbers, and has just one year of upper echelon numbers. Rice is going to see a huge number of 8 man fronts as there is no WR in Baltimore considered a threat. The list goes on and on. I wasn't alone in my projections of Spiller having a huge year, based on Jackson's injury history (no matter what some posters tell you, it's Spiller who played 16 games last year, not Jackson), the new offensive system in Buffalo predicated on running the ball, and his sterling 6.0 yards per carry.
However, it's been exactly ONE WEEK. Let's let some more time go by before you guys start running around pointing and screaming like a bunch of children, ok?
There's no evidence of CJ throwing up on the field; however, it may have occurred while he was riding the pine.

"There's absolutely no reason to be concerned" is exactly the right takeaway from that post. I find it hilarious that people are jumping to conclusions after one game. I find it comical that people are bashing CJ, despite only ONE RB rushed for over 100 yards this week.
Keep it coming, fellas, keep showing how short-sighted you folks really are.
edit: by the way, 22 touches x 16 games = 352 touches. Methinks each and every one of you folks would be stoked to have your RB's get 350+ touches this year. But keep up the ignorance spewing! You two are doing great!
I like how he's now shifting to the 'if he gets over 20 touches' angle. Well yeah, that's one of the many question marks that so-called gurus completely ignored.

Smart call.
Tate is in a contract year and after touching the ball over 1,100 times in the past three years, Foster's body could be breaking down. As a Texans fan, I don't give a dang who is in the backfield as long as they produce and we win. Foster, Tate, and Wood could (hopefully will) be a dangerous RB committee.

Foster and Spiller both might wind up to be fantasy busts this season, as top 5 first rounders, at least. It's only one week, but teams make changes quick, especially when viable options (F-Jax and Tate) are waiting in the wings.

That's always a possibility but difference being a track record versus speculation.
On the positive side, Foster had three years of top productivity, a solid O-Line, and legit SB aspirations. The question marks were he didn't play any pre-season due to injuries, over 1,100 touches in those three years, and Tate is in a contract year. One could make a well informed decision and aware of potential downside.
As for Spiller, he showed glimpses of breakaway speed, named the starter, and a gaudy YDS/A. Question marks included (but not limited to) history of being nicked up, limited experience as a starter, shaky O-Line, an unproven rookie QB, well established backup RB, etc. One would have to make a bunch of assumptions, hope for best case scenarios, and pray it works out.
If Foster has a terrible year, people that drafted him in the top 5 can't have any regrets. Sure, it would suck and feel like a wasted pick but they made a well reasoned decision. If CJ has a terrible year, people that drafted him in the top 5 will say, "Why in the heck did I listen to that so-called guru?!? He said Spiller was a lock for 2K yards!1!!"

I'll be the first to admit I had some some hesitation protecting McCoy. Tested the waters but no offers were to my satisfaction, so I took a calculated risk. So far so good but even if he gets injured, he defintely got me at least one victory (won by 5)

Looks like McCoy is a little worried about having to "do it all" in Philly:
LeSean McCoy said he thinks "[the Eagles] have to do a better job of monitoring the reps" in the backfield.
McCoy saw 32 total touches in Monday night's Week 1 win over the Redskins. "I think we can do a better job rotating because it’s a long season," McCoy said. "I don’t think I need to have the ball 31, 32 times in a game for us to be a successful offense. We have too many different weapons. I think the running backs we have here can definitely play." Bryce Brown saw just nine touches in the opener. It's safe to say McCoy will not be carrying the ball 30-plus times every week. However, he is going to have a monster workload in Chip Kelly's offense.
McCoy is absolutely correct. Due to inevitable long term health issues, a RB should not get 30+ carries (in addition to any catches) every game for an entire season. Just look at Earl Campbell. After numerous surgeries and struggling with constant pain for decades, he can finally go through a day with minimal issues.
I would rather sacrifice a couple points, even on a weekly basis, than see any RB getting that many touches in today's game.
So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts
I've just never seen a player asking for more help... it's usually the other way around, with the player wanting the ball more. I get his point though. That's why I avoided him this season. Those who drafted the likes of McCoy and Vick will reap the benefits in the first few weeks, but it won't last.

You're right, it is very unusual to see but even as a 3rd year "owner" of McCoy, I'm happy to see him speak out. In that type of full gas offense, I think he'll have more than enough opportunities to go nuts while still getting a couple series off to recover. Chip will realize these guys have more than a three to four year window, which he's accustom to, and tinker with his game plan to accommodate franchise players for long term use.

Injured his knee in the 4th quarter after averaging 0.9 (ZERO-POINT-NINE) yards per carry. Speaking of, he needs to average 142 yards for the next 13 games to reach 2K and has 0 touchdowns.
On the other hand, the consistent RBs that didn't have injury and/or loaded backfield concerns are more than holding their own at this point:
AP has 333 total yards and 4 TDs.
McCoy has 513 total yards and 2 TDs.
Jamaal has 375 total yards and 3 TDs.
Lynch has 256 total yards and 3 TDs.
Forte has 363 total yards and 3 TDs.

Hindsight is always 20/20. AP, Martin and Morris are the only preseason top 10 to currently be top 10 in rushing yards. Theres risk at every pick... Sitting there suggesting you knew it all along is not only disingenuous it's just idiotic.

Speaking of Fantasy Football, after going 6-1 this week I thought it would be interesting to see where my teams rank in total points compared to record...
Record (Total Points): 3-0 (3rd) 1-2 (2nd) 3-0 (1st) 1-2 (11th) 3-0 (1st) << This is cpamike's Collectors Universe league 1-2 (3rd) 2-1 (4th)
I don't do fantasy football, but since I'm a 'Hawks fan I'm wondering if any of you grabbed Wilson as your QB? I know he doesn't put up #'s to win you a league, but just curious.

He's my starter and in fantasy football it honestly doesn't matter who have you at QB at this point - the position is that deep. Anyone who reached and grabbed Aaron Rodgers early is really feeling the lack of depth at RB I am sure.
I have Rodgers in a 10-team league, but I grabbed him with my 4th pick. That's the game I lost this week... Rodgers and Cobb were worth a total of 18 points. That'll never happen again.

Seriously, though, there's something amiss in Green Bay. There's some weird discord going on between Rodgers and McCarthy, and this bye week couldn't have come at a better time. They better get things figured out or its going to be a long season on the frozen tundra.
Will Arian Foster ever regain anything close to fantasy dominance this season?
