Ok great. Someone said on another board that it was fake due to the stars looking wonky. Granted due to the age they do look wonky but I compared it to a PGCS 40 and it was no different. Plus the lettering was too crisp to be fake to me.
I would encourage you to go to the Liberty seated collector club site and take advantage of the FREE online reference books by Bill Bugert to see if you can match a die marriage. I cannot tell from a picture. james

This has been a very exciting and anxious week for me as I had to wait three days for this coin to arrive sight unseen. Three hours of sleep in two nights. It was a dream to even attempt to get a 78-S, and now it's sitting on my desk, no different from the other coins. I need a nap.
GRRR!! Congrats-This is the only one that I still need. But, I am basically done collecting and will never acquire one now.
Wow! Great to see my old 78-S show up here. It's a great, solid extremely rare coin. Short of the unobtanium 1853-O no arrows, this is the last coin obtained in a Seated Liberty half set. Enjoy!

3 coins to go.......then what?
I have the whole set (except the 73-cc NA of course). I'm just in the process of upgrading. The goal is minimum VF20 (max I guess will be AU50 now that I have a couple). I have 13 coins below VF, including 2 details coins (71-cc and 86). The coins above are just upgrades to existing VF coins. I'll just keep slowly upgrading toward AU50, then pass the set down to my kids someday. Passing it down to them was the only reason I started slabbing the set last year, which has turned out to be fun in it's own way. Before that, it was in a Dansco. I'm old school and prefer album collecting.

Nice set! My pick is your 51-o.

Yes, they're all nice. Did you see his registry? The 51-o popped out to me with its strong strike and residual luster. A tough combo for a very tough issue. Very underrated.
It is not that life is short, but that you are dead for so very long.

That 1841 and 1845 are killer!!!
Hey new member here!!! Glad I found this place. What do you think of this 1861 seated. Is it real or fake? Appreciate your feedback
Looks OK to me.

@skier07 Love that 44-O. I saw those when they listed and knew they wouldn't last long, congrats on two excellent XF's._

Wow, the color!
What do you think of the condition of this 1853 half. Cleaned? Legit ? I can never tell
Looks like a ground recovery.
So it's what, Fair? Good? Condition
Looks like XF details with environmental damage from being in the ground. Someone probably dug it up metal detecting.
Ahhh gotcha. It wasn't cheap so that's why I asked
Coin looks better in hand with a darker brown look. 45+ non L.
I was very tempted on that coin. Congrats and happy someone here scored it.
Does this look cleaned ?
Apollo,
It looks like a nice original coin to me.
Doug
Thank you. Seller claiming it to be AU+ all subjective of course
I'd say it's more XF than AU.
Two FUN show pickups for type:
1853 Liberty Seated Half Dollar (Arrows & Rays) - PCGS AU50. I photoshopped the True View image because it was oversaturated.
1854-O Arrows Liberty Seated Half Dollar - PCGS XF40
N30 upgrade for my P12. 55-s seems particularly hard to find in upper circulated grades.
Don,
The 1855-S quarter is really tough to find in decent condition. Congrats on your new acquisition!
Doug
Pulled the trigger on this 1877-CC quarter in XF condition, I think
nice coin Apollo. grade looks right to me.
